Re: Brush bath?
In Seeboden I asked the lady at Kryolan if the had any plans of making a line with no perfume. She claimed there wasn't anything in it.. I got my mom to have a sniff - it is the kind of work she does at the lab at work - and could tell there was something in it. There was another guy there, and he said that there was something in it so cover the chemical smell. Guess chemicals are not fun to smell either, but still.
But I do wonder if the first lady really didn't know there was perfume in it?

Re: Brush bath?
To me Kryolan smells like make-up and that doesn't bother me as much as the scent of Paradise OR the old Wolfe formula which smelled like cheap rose perfume - horrible. The new stuff seems to have less scent.

Re: Brush bath?
I actually liked the old Wolfe *lol* But Paradise, no thanks. Guess that is why it would be optimal if there was minimal smell, to please more people.
Re: Brush bath?
I actually really like the smell of Kryolan, haha. I would be lying if I said I didn't open my paletter or another container up once in a while to take a whiff...
Re: Brush bath?
I'm usually happy to look at nice new CLOSED container... but, whatever paints your face Kristal!!

Re: Brush bath?
i had never heard of a brush bath before! after i face paint i just wash the brushes in water, and soap sometimes. is the build up only relevant for people who face paint for long periods of time and with certain paints?
Re: Brush bath?
Honestly.. it isn't relevant at at all. It's hype, marketing and not necessary. Adding stuff like that is just making it more likely to cause irritation or reactions in people.
Water and soap is fine. Keep your equipment clean and change your water when it gets really murky... nothing else really needed.

Re: Brush bath?
Just wanted to chime in that that brush wash would irritate me because it has oat in it. I have celiac disease and oat or wheat protein on my skin makes me get a painful rash that then turns into flaky skin for days.

Re: Brush bath?
There you go! I've never really figured out why adding smells to things is supposed to be "good" as opposed to no smell...

Scents are usually added to cover other smells, like an ingredient that smells unpleasant. It's easier to smell something pleasant rather then unpleasant. So in most cases that's the reason. Realistically, it costs more to add a scent then not.

Re: Brush bath?
I really like the stuff but after reading that you guys are sensitive to some of the ingredients I may just stay away from it from now on... I bought some Ivory soap the other day and will use that for cleaning my brushes... Besides as with most items on the SF website... the bottle was really small compared to the look of the picture...
Re: Brush bath?
This is a very interesting post. I thought about getting this product but, after reading this thread, all of this makes a lot of sense.
I"ve been using the Paradise brand for years and, so far, I never had any complaints or skin reactions to it's scent.... as far as I know. An allergic reaction could happen with any product. But using a product with an uneeded fragrance does add a risk, unfortunately. :-/
The fragance is a marketing/branding thing and I had a lot of women tell me they loved the scent of my makeup. It made them feel as if they were in vacation... so that's a good thing for my business! lol.
I realized that, with time, the fragrance seems to dissipate. But it does stay in the product, of course.
Anyway, this is a little out of subject, now! :-p
