Ok. I love this show. Yes I would love to lose some weight, but after living in the UK and watching both the US and AU version, I am hooked. This week is week 3 of the US season.

Ok, I hope this isn't a strange question...but has anyone here body painted their own or someone else's kid? Could CPS take that as 'child abuse' if you posted it, even if they were wearing proper undergarments?

These days.../shrug....I'd have no clue to what type laws there might be on this. I have not seen ANY kids 'full body' painting pics, so was wondering.

My 4 (almost 5) year old asked me to 'paint his whole body' like a tiger and I was thinking....COOL, a chance to practise ...

Hiya,

I was just wondering where everyone ordered their supplies from and why? Do you order exclusively from one or buy from several vendors because of price, availability ect.

I currently order from Silly Farm and Madhatters Magic Shop. I go to Silly Farm because they have almost everything you need. But they could really improve on their shipping costs and customer service.

I love Paradise and no body has it cheaper than Madhatters.

Im sad, I wanted to go to the Face & Body Art Convention in orlando, I figured Im going down in May for my honeymoon and Hubby will be driving the monorail one day so maybe I could go to FABAIC one day. Well I just saw the dates for it and I will barely miss it. I will be stuck on an airplane to florida May 24th and will arrive just in time to miss the last class

Oh well, it will still be a happy time since I am afterall getting married.

Anybody planning to be down there? Maybe ...

I am sure everyone gets this. The first think out of a customers mouth is "how much do you charge?" They are fixated on price and unless you a speil all prepared, you most likely answer the question, they are scared away by the amount and then that is that.

One of my goals this year is to have a speil ready about how I am insured, professionally trained, use only FDA compliant face paint, a new sponge for each child ect... before I quote my price.

Does anyone have anyone have any goals for the new year for their business?

What are your plans in achieving these goals?

I think this year I need to be more aware and accountable of my plans and goals. I tend to get really excited about things then time seems to slip away and I finish the year with a bunch of half plans. So to fix that I am not only going to make goals I am going to set a time limit and a how am I going to get there plan as well.

Beginners sponge questions

So the ministry I run provides me with a lot of free stuff I use, hair clips, mirrors, brushes, applicators, sponges etc. However, even though my sponges are free, they are makeup quality triangle sponges.

So here is the question....

Am I having a hard time with the consistency of my paint because I am new or are these sponges causing me the problem?

It seems nomatter how much I practice, I just can't get it right.

I obviously would love to use them since they are free...but ...

Things I learned

1) Young women who work in bars CAN'T tell time (they were early... but still !!)

2) No matter how good your paint/make-up is and how well it usually holds up there is no way to protect the paint job when it is -30C outside and they have to go from your studio to the club with god knows what in-between.

3) Remember to tell my assistant when the parameters ...

Meteor Shower

Hey, if any of you are night owls...tonight (January 2nd going into the 3rd) is supposed to be an awesome night to see a fairly rare meteor shower. The moon will be set after 11pm, and so it'll be nice and dark...and the Earth is just perfectly placed for us North and slightly West Norther Hemisphere folks to see them.

Supposedly right before dawn, might see as many as two per minute. They say anytime after midnight and before 6am is the best time. Happy Star Gazing!

Re-Amp my Display board

Ok, I need to Re-Amp my Display board. I am currently using a large Dry-Earse Board, and taped my designs to it (it works but it needs some updates). The start of our busy fair and festival season will be here in just a few months. So I need to get started on my prep. Any ideas? What do you all use? Pics would be nice, I just want to get some ideas on how to make mine better.

My dear sister and our friend came to visit me a few nights ago and we did an 'Abstract Tiger Mini Jam'. They both patiently let me practice blending, stripes and whatever I felt like doing. I used some techniques I learned in the Mark Reid class earlier this month. Here is what came out of the brush:

Make Your Own Liquid Glitter Gel (Bling!)

Ok, just in case anyone was trying to find this, I put it here in the 'How To' Section.

Here is a picture of what I used:

A tube of 'Aloe Soothing Gel' from a local health food store. It is a 'NOW' Brand. It has a pleasant odor and kept the glitter gel viscous and yet flowing smoothly; it dried nice and is safe for 'facial' use.

You want a 'polyester' fine glitter in gold. I happened to find Martha Stewart's 'fine' Florentine Gold Glitter at Walmart in a really big container. ...

What about chairs? Do you bring two chairs, one for you and on for the person your painting or do you stand and have one high directors chair?

How to get in your local paper?

Just wondering if anyone, through their own effort, has gotten their local paper to do a story on them? I wouldn't know how to go about it, but think it would be nice. I've had a photographer come out to a couple of events and take pictures, but this has never shown up in the paper. I'm wondering how to get a story about my company...

Wolfe for sponging?

I've been using snazaroo and someone recommended the wolfe apetizers. I do like the wolfe pallete when it come to small details and cheek designs, but I am having trouble using it to sponge. It isnt as consistant as snazaroo. Now I am a bit worried because my mom wants to buy me the make your own wolfe palette from silly farm for XMAS
