Hi everybody,

Anyone try/use the Detailz range by Mehron??

I bought the black white silver and gold ones thinking they would help me with lining and fine detail......

not so.

They smell kinda like a texta, and you have to redip the applicator thingy over and over and over, everytime you do a detail. You also have to hold the little pot in one hand when you redip as it's such a snug fit you have to pull the lid and the pot with two hands. This doesn't work for me and I find the little sponge ...

I've got a giant birthday at the end of September (who invites 50 kids to a birthday?! Apparently about 18 of them are under 2 though, phew.) and it's a Disney theme. I've told her that due to copyright laws yadda yadda, but I think I'd like to have some designs anyway, just in case.

Any ideas on quickie Disney designs? They've got Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Daisy and Donald coming (yes, they've hired 6 actors. Also myself and a twister and an air brush artist, and they've rented out a ...

Ok everyone... honest... I really don't spend my time checking all facepainters sites... I just kind of stumble into some.

I'm in Regina visiting family and the exhibition is going on. So, decide to go and see if there is any facepainting going on there. We find free facepainting... yikes... that was really scary. For the most part they were using Snazaroo paints, but I did see a suspicious little container of red liquid paint (I think that was liquid tempera paint). Happen to find another ...

I am a little stumped for a concept for this one. The theme from the Baby shower is a star is born. Trying to come up with ideas without being too literal to the theme ( i.e. baby done inside of a star) One idea I came up with...but now I am thinking may be a bit on the "cheesy" side, was a broadway stage with the curtains partially drawn with the baby name in neon lights above it, a spot light centerstage in the shape of a star with a baby in a tophat. Cheesy right???

Here are some more ideas I had: more little jewels (not too much of a good thing, you know!), birthday cake and balloons on face (did that a few times, do not like my designs - too amateurish!), buying a felt birthday cake hat for the child (sunglasses would ...

Here's the step by step for the rose tattoo.

Sorry, I don't know how to do the fancy ones:-)

Linda

Brushes:

Small detail round brush

6 inch round

4 inch filbert

Paint:

DFX Red

DFX Black

DFX White

Paradise Yellow

Paradise Orange

Paradise Lagoon Blue

Paradise Amazon Green

Using a detail brush & black start the design in the center of the rose & work out(don't wory if your lines get a little light as you'll sharpen the design up at the end).

OK; as asked; this is just how I do it after trail and error!

Unlike 'normal' freehand glitter tatts, these are usually only going to need to last for a photoshoot or performance, not a week. So I add body paint to the glue, usually neon pink or yellow (gone off green as it is more likely to stain skin).

Less is more, try it on your arm (takes lots of shaking to mix the paint chunks in). Get to where a) you can see the glue/paint when it dries (as the glue dries invisible otherwise) and ...

METHOD 1 - for fat rainbows etc to be used with sponges & big brushes

I sort out & de-pot the colours I want to use - I stick to 1 brand/ type in the hope they will 'wear' evenly. Eg if I did Snaz with 1 sparkle colour in, which is usually softer/ wears faster, it might suck as that colour would disappear from the rainbow. In this ...

Something that I noticed, and I just have to mention it to all the split cake makers.

PLEASE DON'T CUT YOUR CAKES IN THE PLASTIC CONTAINERS WITH A METAL KNIFE

Take the cake out of the container and cut it up out of the container if you're using a sharp knife.

The reason is that if you are cutting it up in the container you are also cutting up the container, which means scrapes and cuts of plastic that are going into your makeup cakes-that's not good.

Ok, done

Thanks,

Also is there any color combination's that really work well together? Any that don't?

Should I be doing similar colors or contrasting colours? or a bit of both?
