Paris theme birthday party

Post by LoriSamson on Sat Mar 17, 2012 7:30 pm

I could use some creative minds on this next gig... the theme is Paris. All I can think of is an Eiffel Tower and a lacy mask. Any thoughts?

mime faces or those clown faces. I can't remember what those sort of clowns are called, but my cousin used to collect the dolls that looked like them. All white face with tiny mouths and pretty designs around the eyes, tears, swirls, flowers ect.... Maybe a small colorful dot on the tip of the nose. Some were black and white, some were done with jewel tones, some were white on one side and gold on the other. Lots of different options, but a definite style to them. Pierrot, maybe.

You can paint a beret tilted on the forehead and a curly mustasche on the boys or men. You can paint the tilted beret on the girls. Idea

French flag, standard masks and swirls in the colors of the french flag (which is the same as the American flag, so you can use those patriot themed rainbow cakes).

Oh my.... great, GREAT, ideas! Hitting my scatch pad in a few minutes! Helena, your avatar looks very French (said with pouting lips and my best French accent).

For some reason Paris always brings mime to mind for me--is there a logical connection?

Ahh... I just tried some fluer d' lis on my arm. That's a design that says French to me. And the mimes in the little white gloves say Paris for sure! I've been trying out some designs today. I'll post some pics of the party next week. (If I figure out how...being I never posted one yet)

poodles, pink and black and white, fleur de lis, Eiffel Tower, old fashioned lamp posts, chandeliers, French phrases in handwriting like "Paris" "Amour" "Bonjour" "Ooh la la" "Je t'aime" beret and scarf and/or mustache, baroque style eye designs would be cool. Here are a few photos for inspiration:

Don't forget that the more you prepare for the theme, the more likely the kids are to want the usual butterflies, Spiderman, tigers, etc. !!
