Mark Reid brushes- WOWWIE WOW WOW!

Post by kathyrisley on Mon Mar 19, 2012 4:25 pm

So, so happy, my 2 new Mark Reid brushes arrived today (#2 and #4)...WOWWIE WOW WOW is all I have to say. Sharpest points I've ever been able to make on teardrops and swirls...made me feel so much more confident about my line work in all of 5 minutes. I had been getting so frustrated. This makes me happy!!! Hee hee!!

No, I will have to do that! I don't have a chisel brush at all, but been thinking of trying one, it will have to be a Mark Reid now.

My favorite brush to use is a filbert. Mark Reid's chisel brush is essentially a very stubby filbert that is pretty thick, and tapers very quickly to a point. It's pretty stiff, and I love it!

I felt the same way at first, but only a couple months later, they are already starting to fall apart on me. Virtouse brushes are just as sharp if not sharper, and last wayyyy longer than Reid brushes, and cost 2 bucks a pop. I am actually kinda pissed that I bought as many Mark Reid's as I did.

I love mine. Not the most cost effective brushes I've owned but definitely the most versatile. These two (#2 and a #4) are my workhorses! I've had mine over a year now and they are still as wonderful as the day I bought them.

Still loving my Mark Reid brushes... the chisel brush is fantastic...but I do love my Paradise chisel brush just as well (the brush hairs are a bit longer) and I use them both constantly.

What I don't like about Mark Reid round brushes is that I can't seem to make small dots...they are too pointed... so I use a more rounded tip brush for dots.
