top designs for boys?

Post by aprilmoonflower on Wed Sep 09, 2009 2:32 pm

I am trying to come up with a handful of designs to perfect. What are the favorites of boys you have painted?

Skulls, tigers, wolves, dragons, dinosaurs, sharks, Spider-guy, Bat Mask

However, it varies... depends on which displays I have up!!

exactly... it depends on what you have to show that they like... my top would go Spiderman, Tiger, Snake, Puppy.... I have a pirate design up, but the model is a girl (so it doesn't get requested often) and I just started putting out a dragon design.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering the same thing.

Linda, your avatar had me cracking up for a good 5 minutes! First, I couldn't figure out what it was, then when I did, I couldn't get a hold of myself! That trunk flopping up and down is hilarious!

yup-what they said.
My son likes to be an "Indian", so I make a few passes of different colors with my large flat brush in red, yellow and white. Any boy who sees him, has to have that too. It EASY, and I make it seem important because a Native told me little kids can't have black on their faces until they've proved that they're a warrior. It's a fun story, and they think it's cool.

I laughed when I saw that avatar too!! Why I HAD to have it.....since I dont' have any photos of myself....especially with face paint. I can't seem to paint myself very well.
I've been painting for 2 years now...& The first time I had ever had my face painted was at FABAIC this spring in Orlando. (sad huh?)

boy stuff: batman, spiderman, tiger, monster, alien, shark, dino, dog, wolf, dragon, fire, pirate.... those are the ones that I get CONSTANTLY. It's actually kinda rare to get a boy that doesn't want something that I just listed... And I don't work from a board, or book, or even a list of designs.. these are the designs that the kids pick on their own!

also, I find Linda's avatar to be freakin funny as well! Did we meet at fabaic in may Linda?? I was there!

Yes, Ash we met but not formally,
I was in Ambah & Annie's jewelry class with you. I was sitting in front of you at the table with Sally Edelman form Virginia. I came up to you after class to where you had been sitting and took photos of all the cool stuff you had painted on your arm.
(I have short red hair and am 5' 8" tall)
I also saw you walking around w/ the piece of glass embedded in your forehead! I had to look twice to make sure it was not real!!

I haven't painted much jewelry since then either, only one. I had wanted to add it to my Menu board, but until I get faster at it, a necklace like hers wouldn't work real well at the festivals i do. It takes WAAAAAAAYYYyyyyy tooooo long for me right now!

Lately I've been doing lots of flames, horned monsters and scorpians on boys.
