officially de-lurking!
Hi everyone! I've been lurking around here for quite a while, reading posts, learning new things, etc... decided it was finally time to introduce myself!
I've been face painting for about a year and a half now - I worked at a park in San Diego for two summers which was great, learned a ton... but I never really broke away from the park's designs and style, so I'm really not too confident in my work. I think I've done about a billion dolphins, tigers and butterflies (and don't even get me started on Shamu!), but seeing everyone's beautiful, inspired painting is really making me want to test my own creativity. I don't have a portfolio at the moment, but I do have my first private gig tomorrow, so hopefully I'll do well and have some pictures to share from that! Wish me luck :p
Looking forward to talking, learning and laughing with you all!

Welcome from out of the shadows!
I wish I had discovered the art form at your young age... although all the awesome products and tricks didn't exist back then so I guess I picked it up at the perfect time
I would of loved a job at a big fun park painting faces! Lucky you
Be sure to take pictures and share your adventures with us.

Tash - I feel really fortunate to have worked at a park. So many willing victim--- err, children to practice on! lol. Honestly, working at my job we didn't have splits, rainbow cakes, one-strokes or anything like that... trying to figure out how to use them makes me feel like I'm re-learning how to paint - I love it.
Thanks everyone!

Welcome, danielleee!!! Gee, I wonder which park you're talking about...haha! I lived in San Diego for many years... but that was back before they had face painting at ANY theme parks.
