My YIKES! Moment

Post by OtterGirl on Wed Apr 18, 2012 4:09 pm

So this morning I was on the local news promoting an Earth Day event for this weekend. I got the schedule from my contact and saw that they wanted me to paint the reporter, Casey, on camera. I just assumed that Casey was a girl. (I don't really watch the morning news). I carefully planned and practiced a very feminine spring themed mask, only to learn at 5:45 this morning that Casey is a guy! He came in and said he wanted me to paint his face like a globe. AHHHH! I totally had to wing it on camera. I literally had about 7 minutes to do the whole thing, and he had a mustache and beard. Yowza! Anyway, I did my best. This is how it ended up looking.

Wow, you did a GREAT work! If I were under such pressure and in front of a camera, I guess I wouldn't be able to control my shaking hands pale

Thanks, all. The reporter looked at it and said, "Am I supposed to be wrapped in leaves or something?" But it seemed like everyone else could tell what it was. Smile

I think they just assumed I knew who the reporter was. That's what I get for not watching the news. Wink
