Hecho en Mexico symbols, Eagles, red, white, and green from the Mexican flags, soccer balls with the various Mexican Futbol teams (google futbol mexicano), jalapenos and other peppers, anything Aztec, pinatas, cactus, guitars, sombreros, etc. Viva Mexico!

Nope. Those are for the Day of the Dead. Cinco de Mayo is Mexican Independence Day.

History Lesson Alert

September 16 is Mexico's independence day. May 5th (Cinco de Mayo) is the date for the Battle of the Puebla. A group of poor indigenous Mexicans led by General Ignacio Zaragoza defeated a well-armed French occupying force led by Napoleon III. It is celebrated more in the US than in Mexico. I guess the Chicanos need something to celebrate, too.

Well... okay then! I stand corrected. But sugar skulls are still for the Day of the Dead! right?!

I was a tribal eagle with the snake (from the flag) but really well done. I was googling Mexican emblems, and all variations of Mexican "blank" to see what symbols were used.

& Yes sugar skulls are used for the day of the dead also for Mexican events like 5 de mayo & independence day since our ancestors died for our country (Mexico) Okay I'm going to make some Google searches for that tribal eagle! Thanks

Thank you for the history lesson. When I asked my daughter, she said it was really a date set aside for college age kids to get drunk. Very Happy I like your answer better.

Here's my design:

I love your design, Psalmbook. I have sons, one just graduated from the university, so I understand the 'misunderstanding', not that most college students need an excuse to drink.

I teach many recent immigrants, mostly indigenous Mexicans, and I remind them to be proud of their heritage, their history, and themselves. No one can keep us down without our consent. Get knocked down 6 times, get up 7. I'll get off my soapbox now.
