Glitter over existing tattoo

Post by Caswell Designs FP on Sat May 12, 2012 10:56 pm

I wanted to share a picture from a fundraiser I painted for at a local restaurant.
The girl asked if I could add glitter to her tattoo, so I thought why not. It looked really cool, especially when the sunlight hit it.
I added colors to match the color in her tattoo, but only in certain spaces.

okay...tried to glitter my tat and wasn't too thrilled with the results:
1. ...need to use a smaller applicator for the glue.
2. Glitter did not stay on after shower (used Tulip glue)...like literally, NO GLITTER ON THE TATTOO AT ALL

EPIC FAIL.. Mad

Sorry it didn't work for you this time. Try, try again!

I used glue from Amerikan Body Art, I believe they use Prosaide. Love it, works wonderfully.
And I had a small applicator, also from ABA, but I can't recall the name of it. It is about three or four inches long and has the tiniest little sponge detailer on it. I have been using it to add dots and small swirls and starbursts to regular stencil applied tats. I think it worked really well for the glitter over real tat.
I am going to be ordering the glue bottles and applicators like Cat Finlayson uses in her freehand tats soon, so I can test that method out.
