Recommendations for a makeup chair

Well, I spent this weekend killing my back, and have now decided that I need a taller chair. Do you ladies have any recommendations? Do you use a certain brand/type that really works well for you? Thanks so much for your input!

I use a folding aluminum tall director's chair. There are several styles out there and I think they are probably all good. If you do many gigs per month, the aluminum is worth the extra money. It's extremely light weight which is a life saver when hiking across public parks, up stairs and through city streets.

Second Angie. Although someone brought up on here that small children can fall in between the Back Support and the seat (in the hole). I've actually almost had that happen so, I sewed a piece of material from the Seat to the Back just in case. Took 10 minutes tops.

I find these directors chairs a GREAT investment because of being lightweight and they will put an adult on eye level (I do a lot of college football games). For some of the smaller ones, I let them stand in front of me in a regular height chair.

Just my take on it.

I stood over my directors chair for 3 hours straight with smaller kids looking down & leaning back and my back was killing me. So I've started painting them on ground level.

so with those director chairs, how do the little kids climb up on them. Do you have to have a little step stool too? Do the parents lift them up??? I wasn't too keen of having to lift the kids up my self ... talk about back pain! But I tried the lawn chairs too and found I was bent over way too much.
I tried a 3 step stepstool and the kids just sat on the top step. They could climb up on their own..... I had to put a mini seat because the little kids could fall through the back hand rail and the top step. Still not really satisfied with this set up so I'm still looking for something ideal.

What I would really like is a telescoping high chair that has the steps that can be pulled out.... but in aluminum.

I'll just plan on having the parents lift them into the chair. No way I'm going to do that with every kid!

aluminum is the way to go.. it's light to carry, which will really come in handy. I made a cloth strap to fill the gap between the seat and back, just wraps and clips. works great

Mine is wood, but I love it anyway. I strap it onto my wheeled FatMax, so it's not so bad to carry. (But I've not had to tackle stairs)

I've noticed the kids just climb on up, whether you are ready for them or not! As soon as the chair empties, they are there, so you have to be on your toes... hold the chair steady and have a hand behind them just in case.

So, here's where I found mine. They are a steal because I think the company isn't going to sell the bar-height ones anymore. And you can pick what color canvas you want to buy. Pics of mine are in my gallery.

Oh, something to be aware of. The foot rest is attached by a screw and a metal pin. I keep mine always screwed on so I don't have to mess with it on site, but the pin has to come out to fold up. So, I have to be careful to not lose the pin. And, leaving the foot rest on, it doesn't fold up flush as if it would if the footrest was removed. Doesn't bother me... it might others.

I think I might have been the person to bring up that small children can fall through the space at the back of the chair.

I actually found it first on Amazon, but the shipping the amazon seller wants you to pay makes it way more expensive than what I paid at Naimies. I'd definitely purchase it from them if you're going to get one.
