If you want to REALLY go with that, you could paint a little house on the nose!

I would love to see that.

I would love to see that too!

Miss Ronnie!! Great job!! I LOVE them all, but I especially LOVE LOVE LOVE the house/twister and the witch's legs.

There have been at least 3 other movies based on the Oz books. 1 live action and 1 animated on Return to Oz and then there was the SYFY mini series Tinman where Dorthy went back as an adult. Also Stephen King's Dark Tower series has connections with Oz in the early books and there is even a connection to Oz in the show Lost. Linus told them his name was Henry Gale(Dorthy's Uncle) and he crash on the inland in a balloon. The fake wizard had a balloon. So you have lot's to work with and don't be surprised if kids ask for chickens, or a moose head on a sofa, or TickTock the clockwork man. All from the second book and in both of the return movies.

Return to Oz is a great movie... I didn't see it until a few years ago, but it was really cool!

Oz- Stravaganza is over and we were officially asked to come back next year. I met the only one of the three surviving munchkins who is able to travel still.

The weather was tricky Friday and today, but we had a beautiful day yesterday. My menu board was strictly Wizard of Oz and it was very well received by children and adults alike. The whole experience was so wonderful & memorable.

Of course, my back went out before we even opened yesterday morning. I had to paint the whole day (10:00am - 7:00pm) in agony. Every time I moved I made a grunting sound. Crying or Very sad

I hope you got some photos! What was your most asked for design?

The Wizard Fest I did on Saturday went really well, I painted about 35 kids in like 2 1/2 hours. The most asked for design was the flying monkey! Lots of rainbows with yellow brick road and of course the normal stuff like butterflies, rainbow tigers and only 1 spiderman.
The Wizard of Oz play was a huge success and brought in almost 2000 people for 4 shows! I am relieved it's over! 8 nights of play/and dress rehearsal! Plus I work full time too!

This was the grand-daughter of the guy who played the Wizard in the play, we had an extra monkey hat we let her wear!

Here is The Cowardly Lion I did for the play....He was the perfect Lion!

These guys were brothers and both wanted to be monkeys!

This is me with the "Niko" the Commander Monkey in the play...

This was my favorite little cutie of the whole day!

Little girls loved the pretty tiger...

This looked better in person...it was done with Tag Fairy Floss

Thanks for posting the photo of yourself - Now I can connect a face with my nickname for you, Hoobie!

Those flying monkeys are adorable!... (I didn't offer them on my menu).

I offered Wizard designs exclusively, and only once was I asked for something not on the menu.... and that was from a smart-aleck 12 or 13 yr. old boy with a bunch of his friends who wanted to have the Mike Tyson tribal design on the side of his head (he asked if I knew how to do "that wrestler guy".)

Our tent was right across from the huge celebrity tent (a wedding sized one) and all the limos pulled up with the celebs... My favorite was Margaret Pelligrini - the woman who played one of the tiny Munchkin children.

Hey Jody Rife.... I did get to paint your Wicked inspired Elphaba on 3 women! Thanks so much for that one!!!!

Time to focus on this weekend's 3 day festival.... BalloonFest!!! It's even bigger than the Oz one. Hope my back holds up....
