Camp Fennell 2010 - POSTPONED

Kristal, maybe we could road trip together and catch both events. I have a place to stay in Calgary for us.

I just want to FINALLY get to MEET Shannon (after being email friends for YEARS....LOL).... face painting or no face painting...LOL

Do you need a certain FP skill level to attend ? If beginners (6+mos by August) are allowed I would love to have a crack at it

It will be for any level of painter. The concentration will be on improving techniques and increasing speed for the real world of face painting - not competition stuff.

I'm keen to learn line work techniques and get a good vulcan 'mind meld' from you on all your great experience with face painting. I'm an artist and can 'paint' but the whole face painting world is a new beast. I'm really excited about a chance to get to know you and other painters and share ideas. Awesome opportunity.

How amazing would that be?! My one 'glitch' is that I already have a gig booked for Sat Aug 28, which is the same weekend is Bodyssey, right? I wish it was during the week! But we still have that makeup convention coming up, right?

That's right. It'll be interesting to see what local resources we have.

UPDATE:

Due to family issues I haven't been able to finalize Camp Fennell for 2010.

My mom is coming home from the hospital next week (for those who don't follow my blog, etc. she had a stroke on Jan 9 and has been in the hospital ever since, and will require care 24/7 at home) and once she is home and we see how things are going I will be able to determine if plans for Camp Fennell can go ahead for this year.

I am sorry - the original plan was to have it all settled by now, but crap happens!

I know those who were interested want to know the dates - but as I may have to change the format from my original plan the dates are not able to be confirmed at this time. I apologize for the inconvenience.

A decision will be made by the end of April and I will post details if we are going ahead with Camp Fennell at that time.

Oh, I wish, but I'm having trouble convincing hubby Orlando in May is worth the trip. I think he's finally keen on the idea!

Shannon, so sorry to hear about your mom. Three years ago I barely worked my face painting business because my father was in the end stages of COPD. I was his only advocate & had to keep on the nursing home(my house is too small or I'd have brought him home).

Okay. I said I would make the decision by the end of April... and it is 8:30 p.m. April 30th...

Unfortunately, due to changes in personal and household circumstances plans for Camp Fennell are being put on hold. I hope to resurrect the idea for next year - by then we should be stabilzed and adjusted to our new family arrangements.

Dealing with my mom's condition and arranging care is taking time... we have applied for funding to hire a caregiver (possibily live-in) and this process will take up to 6 weeks for approval, THEN we have to hire them, etc. My own time is currently being taken up with caring for mom, going to work, caring for mom... you get the idea.

Until we get things all finalized, arranged and running along I cannot make plans. Mom requires 24/7 attention for the time being.
