Trees (Colors and techniques)?

Post by Katurah on Tue Jul 17, 2012 6:46 pm

So I was look at a Cherry Blossom topic because I'd definitely want to do them but I was wondering what colors do you all use for the branches and shading? As I was looking at the topic the colors looked so real! I'm not sure what the best browns would be to use also if you have any shading techniques or tips on cherry blossoms please do share! Thank you Smile

I will often take a small filbert brush & use a very light brown on one side & a dark brown on the other side. I then paint the branches & twist the brush to get the effect I'm looking for. The lighter color goes on the top of the branch.

Twist as in rolling the brush?

Thank you for the response!
