Elephant any one?

Post by Magic on Mon Oct 05, 2009 1:08 pm

I have a party this weekend for twins - the boy loves animals and when I guessed his favorite was elephants - I was right! Now I need help- any good elephant ideas- or maybe a monkey too?

I've been planning on doing one, but unfortunately my paints are not at home right now... they are in the back of the van my husband just took to work. If I have a chance later, I'll try a couple. My plan for both the elephant and the monkey is to have it taking up most of one cheek with the trunk or tail curling over the forehead... (obviously the monkey would be upside down then... maybe hanging from a branch?)

There's one I did on myself... it's a mandrill and some of the pros on here said it could be done much faster than I did if you left off some of the details...sigh.... gives me hope!

It's in my gallery.

Aw man... I want to cry... I had some great elephant designs I'd done for the Independence Bowl (Alabama mascot is an elephant) but they are all lost now. But anyway, one was an elephant head up on the forehead near one side, with the trunk hanging down the cheek. It was great.

I found my sponge bob. But it's the only one I've ever done and I did it without a reference pic. I think maybe next time I'll put a curved line over the ball of his nose to make it look pointier, maybe?

Re: Elephant any one?

Post by alezmata on Fri Feb 17, 2012 12:39 am

Just adding to the thread, here is an elephant I put together. I had 2 requests this weekend and I convinced the kids, to pick something else, I wasn't prepared, I had thought about it, but I was struggling on placement. So I put together a sketch after googling and searching through our childrens books. Hope someone can use it, after doing an Elephant search on the forum.
