newbie needs help matching color

Post by drummer_86 on Tue Sep 18, 2012 5:42 am

Hi,

I've never painted a face in my life, but my friends and I are going as smurfs for Halloween. This seems to be "The" face painting forum so I was hoping you guys could help me.

Here is the body suit we will be wearing:
milanoo.com/Unicolor-Blue-Unisex-Lycra-Zentai-Suit-p23617.html

We ordered them without hoods to cover the face.

Which blue face paint would be the closest match to this suit? I'm really hoping the picture is true to the actual color of the suit. I was going to go with Diamond FX, but I wasn't sure which blue would be best. I assume the paints appear slightly different when actually applied to skin.

Thanks Smile

PS. I've been browsing a little bit I must say all your work is very impressive.

I am thinking TAG pearl blue would be the best.

I agree with Suzy.

And good on you for wanting to put something good on your face.

Awesome. Thanks guys. TAG pearl blue looks great. I assume TAG is another high quality brand?

I just don't want something uncomfortable, too greasy, quickly fading, or prone to cracking when it dries.

Also, where is the best place to order this? If you're allowed to speak of that. Wink

Probably depends where in the world you are, drummer. Smile The forum shop has lots of supplies, including TAG Pearl Blue. They ship worldwide, but there are other places you might try if you're in Europe, Australia or somewhere else, and need the stuff in a really big hurry.

Post photos when you're all costumed and painted up!

I'm in Indiana. The forum shop has the cheapest shipping from what I've found so I'll probably go with that.

And I'll try to remember to post pics haha.

TAG is very comfortable. It dries quickly, is brilliantly pigmented, and doesn't flake off. You should be able to wear it for hours, and wash it off when you want to.

I think I might go with this split cake just in case the color is a little off. This should give us some flexibility.

That's a great solution Drummer! Be sure you order a couple of sponges while you're at it Wink.
