Speaking of funerals...

Post by Miss Ronnie on Wed Oct 03, 2012 8:20 pm

...Just found out a few minutes ago through facebook that my ex-husband's father passed away to day.

I haven't seen my ex since the day we walked out of divorce court back in 1987 (good grief, I'm getting old) but we have keep in touch a bit through the years - (he sought ME out on facebook back in January.) It was a first marriage for both. I've remained unmarried ever since, but he just had divorce #3 and has a girlfriend who wants to be wife #4.

Just wondering if ya'll think I should send a card to his mother or to him... not really sure.

I would probobly send him a card, as for his mom, it would depend on how close you are with her. If you've kept in touch, I would, if not, just address the card to him "and family". Sometimes in that situation the absence of acknowledgement would be more noticed/offensive than sending something. Trust your gut

If it were me, I would send one to both if you had a decent relationship with his mom as well.

I'd send it to both, too - so long as you were close with his mum. x

Thanks for your advice, guys. I was close enough to his mother and father, but hadn't talked to them in 27 years...
I'm thinking that a card to him that says his name "& family" will be good.
