I forgot all about this thread!!!! Okay, drum roll, please.....

I use the empty paper towel holder to hit kids over the head with - seriously, I do! But only in fun and when they are being silly and/or asking for something too absurd or abstract. It gets a laugh from them every time and from the parents, too.

I am a crazy face painter. geek

Straight pin: for unclogging bottles of glitter gel
Orange bag with duct tape: it's really a net not a bag, with some duct tape for a bit of structure - for scales (stencil)
Fish filter: same as a stipple sponge
Clamps: for clamping my banner and display board to the ez-up an for clamping extra stuff on the outside of my table.

Dear Sweet Loretta:
I am trying REALLY hard to NOT grow a beard.
I pluck those suckers, I do not shave them.
So, I am guessing you use the shaving cream to remove paint/makeup?

I can imagine the pepperspray if you do events in a aggressive environment, fortunately it's not a big thing in Holland.
(But for walkin allone at night, sometimes I really wish to have one, it can be creepy, but not during a event I think)

Since my latest bodypaint, I have several dismemberd ballpoint pens. The 'middle tube' is what I keep with my brushes, to use as a stencil for perfect circles (for screws etc. )

I can see how you would use those tools, but:

Shannon's real use for those dental tools: Keeping kids well behaved, lol! If I saw those instruments of pain, I'd be quiet and still and be the best behaved, wide-eyed child there ever was, lol.

Do you spread them out on a silver tray for the kids to see?

Love it!

Strangest thing in my kit...squares of clear contact paper (vinyl/plastic) that have been adhered to each other sticky side to sticky side...I use them to make stencils. U can put it on a laptop or iPad screen and trace the image you want
And then cut it out.

I have a de-feathered dart to widen or unclog poofer bottles. Like this without the colorful part:

actually come to think of it, the strangest thing i have in my kit is one of those popcicle maker trays...its got 8 little popcicle shaped tubes on it and i use it as a brush dryer/holder on my table next to my separate cups of brush water. learned it from a lady on youtube who was showing what was in her kit....awesome idea.

Babyfood. In squeeze pouches. It's the only thing I have time to eat when I paint. After about four or five solid hours, I will realize I should eat. I will take one, and ask the child in the chair to count to ten while I squeeze and eat, and see which one of us finishes first. I usually win, the kid laughs because the face painter just ate baby food, and on we go.

When I am home, I get hungry and eat all day long. When I am painting, I can forget about eating for hours. Face painting could result in weight loss if I had a six hour line on a daily basis!

Oh, it's the tasty stuff - Stonyfield Farms Cherry Yogurt, apple and blueberry puree, etc. No strained spinach or anything like that!
