OK, finally took pics of my kit!

Post by Facepainting by Tina on Fri Oct 12, 2012 2:15 pm

I have been painting for less than a month now, but I'm totally hooked!!! Here is my kit so far. I have LOTS of odds and ends and I house them all in this flowered box with handles so it's easy to transport to gigs. I got the flowered box at Big Lots for $8

Holy!!! You have a whole lot in that little carrier lol. How long does it take you to set up? I used to have the same sort of "stuff it in and figure it out when you get there" sort of kit, but I soon went crazy unscrewing lids and unloading/loading everything.

I'm loving all your selection Smile

It takes me about 10 minutes to set up my stuff. I have a little folding table (about 2 1/2 ft. long by 1 ft. wide, and a folding chair...I open my 3 layered box and leave contents in trays, take out blue box, then take out my mirror and album, tie to chair and table (no idea why people try to take them but they do), put towel on lap, blue box goes under table in kit box, take out white box and grab gems, set on table, attach sponge bag and trash bag to side of table, put white box under table in kit box, take black box (I put this on the other side of me on a tv tray table with my wedding cake card holder, hand sanitizer, and tip jar...when kids are done they get to pick a prize (gets them outta the chair faster!). I throw some water in a little cup and I'm ready to go...as I use brushes I stick them in the brush holder. It really takes no time at all to set up...tear down is really quick too! I am totally investing in a fat max or similar type rolling tool box where I can just leave everything in its spot.

It REALLY is amazing what I can shove in that thing!! lol I never realized how much stuff I have accumulated in the last few weeks...no wonder I'm broke! lol

Oh my goodness! That little box is like Doctor Who's TARDIS! Laughing That's a whole lot of stuff. Can't believe you've only been painting about the same amount of time as me. Smile

I'm going to do a book of designs for my next gig, as it's not likely to be as crazy-rushed as my last one and it's all-adult. Seems easier than taking the design board again.

Love your kit! I'm always so curious about what people's stuff looks like.

I'm seriously getting another box for this kit...I have way outgrown this one with all my new paints lol And I just KNOW I will be looking for a box with Metina's name on it in my mailbox soon enough!!! lol

I'm really hoping to get a fat max but I'm also hoping to not pay full price since I really wanna paint/duct tape the heck outta it! lol

Yes, the havannah sunset is so bright and pretty...at first I didn't know what to do with it but now I use it for so much...as soon as girls see it they want the design made with it lol And I got the pansy (great for roses too), and the peacock looking one was called "fancy feathers" I liked the colors better than the actual peacock one...but can't figure out how to paint a peacock yet hahhaha

Hi DreamWarrior, I think this is the first time I've seen you. Welcome!
I really like your avatar butterfly! Love the colors.
I still have not mastered a butterfly, but I keep trying. Maybe I will get brave enough to post one someday Wink
