For really gross fake stitches, I cut up peacock feathers and glue them across the fake wound. Yuk. It looks so yukky!
Happy gross yukky wounds!

hahahaha @shannon i was thinking the same thing!!! they look better as a whole feather...I done one of becstart anthony's workshops earlier this year and we used black thread to do it with. interested to see how the peacock feathers would look though?

get some liquid latex put it on put toliet paper on it..when it dries you can put make up on it or use a bruise kit..cream make up does the best..you can even tear is to look like a cut..add the blood gel..looks really good..I heard some where you can use silicone . not sure where i heard it

I cant wait to hit the makeup shop in vancouver to pick up blood and liquid latex etc. When I do get them (soon I hope) I will take pics of all my first attempts too see if I can make a few step by steps as I test them all out. Anyone ever do a whole body in peeling flesh and oozing sores, burns etc??

Pretty close to... last Halloween I did a guy as a car crash burn victim so he had a LOT of burns, but not completely solid - his legs were done too... did him on the Saturday, and he called on Sunday and wanted to come over to have it done again...

A lot of FX stuff can be substituted with other things, for instance eyelash glue instead of liquid latex... You can use oatmeal or cereal for wounds:

That was done with eyelash glue, oats, face paint and fake blood.
I haven't found a substitute for my ben nye scar wax yet though, I love the stuff... Unfortunately it melts far too easily... I did this with it, but I had to keep retouching it because the neck gets too warm...
