Test tube rack... hmm...

Post by pasghetti on Sat Oct 27, 2012 6:50 pm

Hi everyone Smile It's been quite a while since I last posted and I thought I'd get my feet wet again with a helpful tip.

Test tube racks as brush holders. Shocked

I actually had this in storage (from college days) in the attic. Never thought about it until my daughter asked for a microscope and chemistry set for her birthday. Made me remember how much fun I had with my first chemistry set. I used to love seeing all my test tubes nicely lined up in my test tube rack... hmm... SMH!! That would be perfect as a brush holder!! After 20 minutes in the attic, thank God it's Fall, I had this:

I have used it at three fundraisers and I love them. Perfect for those who face paint with the motto, "A place for everything and everything in its place." Rolling Eyes Laughing

This is a 16mm rack. Holds my huge honkin' Royal Majestic 1" wash. If you look in the right corner you can see a #12 flat and a Royal Aqualon Wisp. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. You can even get the cute ones designed for test tube shots. Amazon sells racks similar to this one for $6.50 - $9.99. If you have Amazon Prime this is a great deal.

I think I'm gonna spray paint this one hot pink Wink

Thank you Ria! I can't find those icecube tray things the others have anywhere. This is a great idea! And I have Prime, so that's even better.

What a fantastic idea! I was resigned to waiting until next summer for the ice-pop trays. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Ria, seeing the test tube rack reminded me that one of the schools I teach art at has about four empty scissor holders that are similar to this one, I can use them to hold my brushes!
