Holiday Marketing Strategy?

I have been thinking of a holiday e-card, but was thinking of
a small article about how face painting could save them a lot of
aggrivation at holiday events by keep the kids busy and make for
wonderful family or market photos(whichever there event is). Does
anyone every take the "how I can help you or make you life easier"
rather than just "hire me" stance? Not that the latter is bad, I was
just trying to think of another tactic as business has died for me as
since Halloween.

I was thinking more of the soft sell that might get them thinking, but
haven't fleshed it all out yet.

Though at the end of the day, marketing has to be continuous and not reactionary. A year long plan that is consistent is most likely best, but all a work in progress.

I think you hit it right with it needing to be consistent and not reactionary. By the time you see it happening and react, it's already too late. That's not to say give up and don't do anything, but realize that by the time your efforts now take effect, you may already be back in your upswing.
