FAB rainbow cakes!

Post by Erica's Funny Faces on Fri Dec 21, 2012 12:06 pm

Ok, so I repotted all the FAB paints that I bought last week and I have some leftovers. I thought I would have a go at making some splits/rainbows. I have never done this before so I thought I would ask for some tips, thoughts or opinions on color combos or what not! Here is what I have...BTW I absolutely LOVE these! The top row is Ziva Blue, Silver, Purple Shimmer. The second row is London Sky, Shimmer White, Princess Pink. Third row is Ocean Shimmer, Gold Shimmer, Plum, Lemon Yellow. I will also try to post swatches later Very Happy

I have made fab rainbowcakes before and the metallics are really soft and you can easily roll them till you got the right size...I don't know about the regular colours, but i think they are soft too...have fun!

Thanks Michelle, they are ALL pretty soft and alot easier to repot then my DFX were...I think I'm going to just paint color swatches next to each other to see what combos I like. I also have snaz black and white but idk how well they blend with other brands. A project for another day! I am busy with my day job, cleaning and cooking for the holiday visitors AND I have 2 gigs tomorrow! Shocked

Erica, I have a hard time visualizing what they would look like. Have you painted anything with them yet?

Great colours there, Erica! Smile

And Luz - I absolutely LOVE that split you made! You're making me want to carve up my Superstar paints. Wink

DO IT! It only hurts a little at first!lol I added the most of mine to my pallette first, this was just extra...here they are as single colors. Smile

I love not having to unscrew all the lids! It is soooo much faster for setup and take down. Leaves less room for that sneaky last kid to slip in before I pack up!lol

Your setup is beautiful....but I guarantee I'd make a mess and mix up all the shades in 2 seconds flat. Very Happy At least when my paints are in separate containers, I can be a klutz and not spread them all over each other.....

Hope the gigs go brilliantly!

You know, I was worried about the same thing but oddly enough it works great! I haven't had any colors mixing on me...and I am super messy haha! Thanks, I hope they do to! Very Happy I have done a couple dozen of parties now but I still get nervous before each one lol.

I still nervous, not to the parties anymore, when is free to the public you will always work but on PPF gigs, if you have too many kids more than you can handle and you get stress bad, if you don't have kids to paint bad...

do some mini test ones to see if it works Smile. if not, you haven't wasted very much paint, and you can use them for practice.
