Practice head

Post by Willoughby on Sat Jan 05, 2013 11:47 am

So it's time to get 2 (one for DD too) and I was wondering if ANY hairdresser's (practice) head will work? They are considerably cheaper than the ones sold at Facepainting shops in Holland, but I don't want to make a mistake obviously. Any thoughts on whether they're all made of the same material or are those for face painting different in some way? Thanks guys! Smile

Some of the beauty heads are hard plastic which don't paint to well but some have a rubberized face which works better. I have some posted for free in the swap shop if you want to look. They are the rubberized kind. Hope that helps! Smile

poeh I got one from a hairdresser. But I'm not satisfied.

she has orange skin ( needs a lot of paint )
and wears make-up ( eyes and lips )
and there are some lines that I can't get off :S:S

Her head is hard plastic so know I'll search for a rubber one .

Dear Daphne:
I have old skin and I need a lot of paint.
I wear makeup on my eyes and lips.
I have lines I cannot get off.

I do face paint upon myself.
I have replaced my entire family with a practice head.
They are now officially creeped out.

I wear makeup on my eyes and lips. but i'm sure your eyes are not black and blue and yours lips bloodred . and when you paint yourself you'll match colours right Wink
I have lines I cannot get off. wrinkles or black lines in the shape of flowers?

I think one of the wrinkles around my eyes is in the shape of a rabbit.

Um, I mean laugh lines.
Yeah, that's what I meant.

Lisa, my husband refers to my three practice heads as my "pretend family". I tell him I like them better than my real family because they're always willing to let me paint them and they don't talk when I'm watching tv.

Hi all, I finally managed to find a good latex one here in Holland (quite expensive though - EUR70). I hope it will work well... if it's good then I'll get one for DD too. Apparently, it's very easy to clean, so we shall see - I'm rather excited Smile
