Erica the walls around my tent are just 6x10 white tarps...I fold them in half so the air can flow thru the Tent...but you could put them up all the way...i don't raise my tent all the way up...just high enough for people to walk in..i only let the child and parent in the tent other wise to many people will come in...when the wall are all half people can see me painting from all sides...i hope this helps here is a link on ebay to 3 white tarps...6x10..i just fold them in half to make the half walls...and bungie them to the tent poles..

Erica I have a board with 15 girl designs and 15 boys...I have them numbered and then I have a sheet next to me telling me what number the designs are..so if number 1 is a dolphin the kid tells me they want number 1...it works really well...its what i use when I do my schools here and what I use in my restraunt gigs, and what I just used at Mardi Gras here...its 30 of my fastest designs. i have done them so many times now I don't even have to hardly think about it..I think maybe you should have at least 10 of each that you can do fast..5 girls and 5 boys doesn't seam like much of a variety...but if thats what your comfortable doing you should still be fine...

I also love the look of the guitar cases/ gun cases. I just have a small set up that all fits in a 31 organizing utility tote, I am afraid the cases would be too heavy.

Fun frog, do you have to put lids back on all your paints?

I just wanted to pop in here and give an update on the Naperville,IL. Ribfest gig that I got! I met with the coordinator and went over everything yesterday. They confirmed they want me for 4hrs a day for 4 days-16hrs. May want 20 depending on how busy they are on the day of the carnival. I will get paid $800 for the 16hrs PLUS I can put out a tip jar and since the painting is free to the public (they just pay an entry into the festival and get to do everything) I am thinking tips may be pretty good as well! The lady was so cool and I think I may have even made a new friend...she was so easy to talk to. Even better, they are providing my tent, parking pass and tickets for my entire family! I feel so blessed to have landed such a big gig in my first year! The fact that it is less than 15 miles from my home is exciting to! May even get some good parties booked from it! EEEEEK!!!!! I can also sell anything I want in my booth on the side and keep all the profit, any ideas?

Thanks guys! I am already in freak out mode...I have to put together some super fast designs. I need some that are under 3mins and a board that can be done in 5mins. They want me to have 1 set for days that are a bit slower and one for the super busy days. I don't think there will be a slow moment since the painting is free. affraid

I'm going to be a zombie because I already feel like I won't sleep until July 8th. The day AFTER the festival! lol I have so much to prepare, even my contract. I have to have it to her by the first week of April and I can't seem to get it working properly. Anyone know how to edit a pdf file? I got most of it fixed but there are a few things I can't figure out. scratch

To edit a pdf file you must have the entire package that allows you to do things. If u don't have it, Can u convert it into a different program? You could change it into a word document or power point presentation change your staff then save it into a pdf. scratch
I use the pdf a lot but don't have a proper package. Only the reading part downloaded free. pale
I am also looking for fast faces something small coming up, did u check this thread: http://www.facepaintforum.com/t12264-50-faces-in-2-hours-oh-my.
Denise and all gave great suggestions. Very Happy

Post by Storey on Tue May 14, 2013 7:30 am

Hi Everyone! Smile

I'm soooo jealous of all of these awesome kits!
At the moment, all I have is the Snazaroo Ultimate Party Kit. I've only been face painting for a few months, no paid jobs yet. Just trying to build up a portfolio. Most of the "jobs" I have done have been at birthday parties for my family members children, and once at my son's school dance.

I practice on myself a lot, because my boys refuse to let me paint on them, LOL! But, to save my face paint, I practice on myself with water based craft paint, arm only, not on my face. (I only use the craft paint on myself)

I'm anxious to have all the wonderful paints that you all have! Laughing

Dear Storey:
I practice with the paint I am going to use on the child's face. Each brand of face paint has a slightly different way of handling liquidity, opacity. You can learn Snazzaroo's moisture saturation point by actually painting with it. I practice on my arms, legs, and I work out designs on sheets of craft foam.

If you go into your Profile, and input your general location, it is easier for face painters in your area to notice you are close and arrange jams. Meet with them. Ask questions about brushes, paints, and anything in their kit. You can share orders to split shipping costs. If one person orders one color, and the other person a second color... you can split the cakes in half and get two colors for the price of one.

Water-based craft paint are not meant to be painted on skin. They are classed "non-toxic" based upon being used on paper, wood, plastic or metal, and drying to a finish that does not shed. It is NOT meant to be ingested or painted upon skin.

Happy Safe Painting.

I believe she would but I also heard that if make the product part of a face-painting package you can get around that - not sure if that is totally true. Of course the fact that she isnít charging them directly for the face painting would make that impossible to do.
