Newbie challenge #19--Speed and New Years

Post by amylady222 on Sat Jan 12, 2013 6:40 pm

Looks like I had enough people want to continue this--so here we go...

The Chinese new year is coming up- Feburary 10th--so lets see those designs, idea's and faces!

AND/OR

I want you to do fast faces---In our line of work speed and perfect practice earn the $$ so lets work on fast!

I think I did this one before, but I want you to do a 7 minute Butterfly--From the time they sit, till the time they get up and leave. If you can, take (don't count this as time) a picture of each step. Then when you are done, study the steps you did, and see if you can repeat the face and do it in 5 minutes.

PS: If you don't have a practice head or little kids to practice on, go to yourlocal beauty school and ask if they have an old heads laying around you could have--BUT be aware--the paint doesn't come off of them perfectly--and they are slightly smaller heads, and they are totally different texture than real skin, BUT--they are for practicing on so who cares if the paint doesn't come 100& off or if they are smaller heads---they are a great thing to practice on!

I know I am ALL talk and no action lately--but I think life is finally going to calm for a few weeks so I will try to catch up on everything I have challenged and never did!

Hi there,

This is how I do a 5-7 minutes butterfly!
It's gonna look a bit like this:

First the basic colors

Then puffing the glitter and outlining the wings with black

And finish it of with the body and dots!

Paola-
did you ever see Pirates of the Caribbean?

I love the line when he says :

Elizabeth: Wait! You have to take me to shore. According to the Code of the Order of the Brethren...

Barbossa: First, your return to shore was not part of our negotiations nor our agreement so I must do nothing. And secondly, you must be a pirate for the pirate's code to apply and you're not. And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. Welcome aboard the Black Pearl, Miss Turner .

this is how I feel about these challenges--they are guidelines not rules!

So enjoy!

This took me around 2 minutes. most time spend reloading the brush.

This one minute with the Stencil. (sorry the next picture is better)

This another 2 to 3 minutes.

I think it would look ok with the last one but you could add more details i try to stay within 7minutes. i did not do highlight just finish some black lines.

i think with practice could be a lot faster. This was my first dragon. Very Happy
