So, Shannon, those kids keep nice and still when you paint them heh? Oh, BTW, I do agree that -without a bandana- your outfit is a lot less B** A**... Very Happy

You look Fantastic Erica! I'm so jealous..

I soooooo wanted some crin to make my own cyber locks but i'm in the middle of the pacific and shipping here is so expensive so i just used wool and ribbon and coloured foam things (nt sure what they're called) lol..... not nearly as cool as your cyberlocks but it will have to do for now.....

(note: NOT me!)

You wouldn't get anywhere near ME with that getup...and that would be the shortest party in history! You walk in...they run out...screaming. I'd pay to be the person outside with the stop watch!

I have a pink and purple set that I rarely wear, I like my yarn falls more on me. Mine are a bit thinner than yours though, yours look really really good. I can't get mine to "go on" right.

Re: Cyber Locks

Post by Erica's Funny Faces on Tue Feb 12, 2013 5:12 pm

I bought silver, purple, purple metallic, black so it was actually 4 bags but they were 5yards each color. Plus the rexlace to add more texture to them. I cut each strand at 40" so that I could bunch them with cable ties in the middle, making them about 20". Some strands were longer, some shorter because I wanted a layered effect...I made 3 bunches with 15 strands in each bunch for both sides (so 6 bunches total) and cable tied them in the middle. Then I ran some elastic lace through the cable ties and that is what I use to tie them into my hair... Hope that makes sense.

I made mine just like Doctor locks on YouTube. Most of mine came from cosplaysupplies, too. I also grabbed some from Etsy.

I tried a rasta hat tonight to see how the locks would do...I actually liked it, I have a forehead! Smile It was weird at first but I liked standing out a bit more. Funny thing, my hubby wasn't a fan either, Erica. LOL!
