I use DFX and Eulenspiegel. This is a German brand. Probably not available to your country.

I love the rumors that get started about the Wolfe Company and DFX. I find it interesting that Nick and Brian Support Diamond FX, and that Diamond FX is doing so well. The paints are made in the same factory in CHINA. China is not held to the same restrictions as we are in the United States and any factory can make makeup for anyone they want. The formulas for the paints Diamond FX/Wolfe are very similar, but they are different, and the colors are similar, but again they are different. The packaging is similar but different too. So, then there are the many rumors...everything from FDA compliance, to going out of business, and now the Licensing issues....What will the next rumor be and why?

Metina, what do you know?

I know nothing. I have heard rumors, but hate to speculate as this will only add fuel to the fire and fires burn. Ouch!

I just received a huge order yesterday from DFX and have another one coming. So no problems that I see.

But at the end of the day with so many wonderful brands of face paint on the market, there will be no shortage of things for us to use.

Beware with TAG - I have heard a lot of complaints about the state of the packaging from the wholesaler.

As in the paint pots being broken, etc. This is from a supplier who sent me most of the range to test (I still haven't, whoops).DFX etc seem to have a better care.

So basically yep as Shannon says, its the same almost exactly as Wolfe, DFX and VIP MUA. Chepaest usually depends which country you live in as to which wholesaler is closets / cheapest to your supplier.

You are right Cat,

DFX is having a few issues as well with the new 50 gram cake. The cases although very nice have tops that are very fragile. They are working to change the casing to something that can take the shipping journey better, but are taking every opportunity to make sure that they customer comes first in this matter.

Additionally,

I spoke to the US distributor on the phone last night and there is absolutely no foundation to any of the rumors that DFX is being sued or going away. The business is doing extremely well and is coming up with new products everyday to meet the needs of the US face painting community. Lots of great new things are coming so keep your ears and eyes open(to only the positive stuff).

I think that Nick and Brian support DFX, because DFX let them do what they want..and it's the same paint as Wolfe, so it's not like they are having to compromise with their materials... They are free lance and if they choose to support the next brand that comes a long and happens to be the same thing as Wolfe and DFX all over again, then that's their business. Also, let's be honest. ANY brand that they back is going to do well, because they are so well known and trusted.

I only know what I was told by Kurt and April... BUT I will honestly say that I don't have much of the DFX in my kit. Not because it isn't great or whatever, but because I choose to support Wolfe as a brand. That's all. I buy my baking supplies from my friend Amanda's company, not because it is cheaper but because I want to support her. I did buy some DFX from Metina, because I want to support Metina. I buy from people that I like. And I like Kurt and April and Metina.. See what I mean?

It's kind of like the fact that I get so many ideas from the Snaz pages and stuff... and to help out with those, I contribute my own faces to the library. It's only fair after me using so many of the faces that are already there.

Or, it's like the fact that Ryan and I purchase so many DVD's and books and whatnot from different artists. The point is that if we have gotten a good idea or design from someone that has paid off in our own business, then it's only right for us to repay them by purchasing their material that we use so much. I do a lot of faces that are inspired by Nick and Brian's work, so I buy their books as a way of saying thanks for all of the great ideas. And if we purchase a book/dvd/package lesson and we learn one thing that will improve my business so that we make more money, then it was worth the purchase price because we think of them as long term investments.

Anywho, so back on topic...

Who knows what the next thing will be, but who's to say that another brand won't pop up here in the next coming year?? No one thought that DFX would show up, but they did, so I'm sure that there is always the possibility of it happening again with that or another brand. And then just think, you'll have tons of new gossip to play with Wink

Like Ashley, I support certain brands and companies based on personal connections. But too, I support them based on ethical choices, business practices and likes. There really are some good products out there, find what you like and use it. If it in you - Make personal connections and buy from those places which you like and feel secure, do your homework to support your personal belief system and ethcial standards. As for rumors about various companies or artists in my tribe, never in the long run is there humor in gossip. Some facts are on the record. And artists most often show for companies for representation ans sponsorship - Ashely stated it well.

Stop gossip and go paint.
