Love the painted ruffles (love the salty ones too), I was just needing this for a design. ...I had crescent rolls with Nutella spread inside them, covered in powdered sugar for dinner last night. Yes Dinner.

That's sounds perfectly nutritional, Jody. After all, somewhere in the ingredients for Nutella there are hazelnuts... so you got your protein!

And,
Nutella contains chocolate.
Chocolate is a legume.
It comes from the cacao bean.
Therefore since beans are legumes,
chocolate MUST be a legume.

It is my opinion that
chocolate is the breakfast of champions.
You have it ALL covered for breakfast, Shannon Fennell!

I too had never seen a Fruit and Nut Toblerone but I got one for Christmas.

It makes for a very good breakfast with a nice cup of french roast.

That's exactly how I paint my ruffles too....here is one I did last summer where I made lacy ruffles. Same exact process to create the ruffles, just filled them in with white lines that follow the bends instead of solid colors....

I did the rear folds in gray and front folds in white to add a little more depth.

What i meant on page 1 is this. Use a splitcake with a overflow from light to dark. Make undulating movement a bit uneven. Like a leave of a one stroke rose but then turn it back. When you do that it looks like...

Than i add a little thinned black (i use a lot of water) and make light shades
...

I make highligts on top of the ruffles and make the shades a bit darker in the folds...

And if you like it you can make smal black outlines and little stitches at the bottom...

Thanks Fesspenter Very Happy I really like the way you and Gretchen make ruffles but it's still a bit difficult for me. Have to learn a lot. Wink

Here's another idea i tried....

If you put this shapes together and reapeat the moves....

You will finally get......

Step by step...

And for smaler swirls/ruffles......

Then make a little turn inward....

Make shure you aline the shapes well! And ofcourse you can shade and highlight it if you like.
