Re: Paints for Warm Weather
I just did a sweat test with Starblends (and a goofy water test with a Spiderman face paints vs Starblends too if you look in my channel) and I used Ben Nye Magicake for the linework because I've found that Wolfe Black sweats off in the heat while the Starblends keeps going.
I have a conclusion at the end of the video but basically Starblends is water resistant and so is the Ben Nye so if your client BLOTS the design will stay intact. This was after an hour working in the yard an dripping sweat. I DO NOT live in a very humid climate though so I welcome experiments from people in humidity.

Re: Paints for Warm Weather
That was great, Denise!! (I liked your "Beginner Blossoms" video, too!) Very informative. I have always found the Nye MagiCakes to be very dry, as you noted, and needing more water to activate than most others. I'll give the MagiCakes another try now, after watching your video. For hot, humid Minnesota weather, I think I will try Star Blend bases with MagiCake black and white for line work.
But... the question still remains: which one stroke paints?

Re: Paints for Warm Weather
I started off with Arty Brush Cakes in Rosé and Leaf.
I bought some from that, um' place called Happy Agricultural Place (paraphrasing) and I was so disappointed at the uneven wear and how it wears out in the centre.
I now make my own with Wolfe, TAG, MAC and some Snaz. If I do not want colors to blend as much in a One Stroke, I will use a metallic or pearl finish.
In order to answer your question... I need to know what you are planning to do with the one stroke, and, what kind of a painter are you.... Sponge finishing up with line work, or brush and line work?

Re: Paints for Warm Weather
Mostly brush and line work. As for the one stroke paint, I would try my own interpretations of Vinnie's One Stroke cats, also for butterflies, dragons and such.
By the way, poutine sounds GOOD!

Dear Hauntedhouse62:
Denise Cold wrote an impressive essay regarding what style of painter in this thread:

You do not need to buy every split cake out there when beginning. (Note to self: take your own freakin' advice). You can invest in color combos in the 1" wide One Stroke color combos like "Fire". (Don't forget to use 1" or 3/4" flats. Denise Cold has an excellent video on How To Load Your Brush for One Stroke Face Painting. There is a FaceBook group on One Stroke Face Painting.
Look at the color combos that you really like and be analytical about which color combinations you would actually use. I started with "Rose" and "Leaf" to make One Stroke Roses. I created ploppy blobs. Then, I created blobby plops. Then... one day... I managed a rose. I showed my face painting partner at SickKids Hospital how to make a One Stroke rose. He immediately replicated a rose. I did buy so many Arty Brush color combos in the beginning. It was not necessary. I just fed my addiction to face paint, brushes, glitter, bling.
I hope this helps. I have no fear that you are going to run out and buy TAG's Girls' Night Out".
Happy Painting!

Thank you all for the words of wisdom!
And Lisa, I may buy Girls' Night Out, but first the ingredients for poutine while I cogitate. It sounds a little bit like something they eat in Chicago called "horseshoes".
