A Quick One-Stroke Spider-Man

Post by vinnie on Tue Mar 12, 2013 4:17 pm

I just had to share this. Smile I know Spider-Man isn't a favorite, but I personally love Spider-Man, and even more using a split cake. I hope you all like. Smile

Step 1 - Used DFX white for the eyes
Step 2 - Used my own split made of Snaz orange, Snaz red, and DFX black. For my face I used a 3/4 flat brush, but for a child's face I think a 1/2 flat would work better. I started from the middle, top to bottom.
Step 3 - Used a 6 round brush for the main part of the web, but I think for a child's face a 4 round would work fine.
Step 4 - Used a 4 round to finish off the web, outline the eyes, and paint the small spider.
Step 5 - Used a 4 round for minimal white highlights

Thank you ladies! I'll try to remember to take a picture of my cake. A couple of people on facebook have been trying it out, and one that really popped was the Prisma Hot cake. The whole split idea could be fun to play with though. Imagine a pink, purple, and black for a girlie Spider-Man, or a white, grey, and black for "venom".....ooooh Smile

I absolutely hate doing Spiderman because it takes me longer..way longer than it should. I can't wait to try this, it looks like it just might be the thing to help me along. Smile Thanks for posting.

Katurah, using the flat brush makes it pretty easy to stop before hitting the white, and even if you mix a little it wouldn't matter since you're going to outline the eyes with black. Smile

So I tried a couple of other splits. One for a Spidey-Girl and the other for Spider-man gone bad, lol. Here's a look at all of them. Smile
