Hi! Hehe. Family traditions going on here...

Post by TwistOfArt on Tue Mar 26, 2013 1:02 am

My name is Crystal. My boyfriend and I are starting up a business in entertainment. He's been a balloon twister, since he was 11 (family business that was named Mr. Green's Kids for all of you out in TX.) I used to face paint with my mom when I was younger, but that faded. I figured if we combined our powers, we'll be unstoppable. =]

Anyway, we're located in Charleston, SC and I'm currently just a lurker. I used to use Ben Nye, but now there seems to be a lot more verity, so I'm scouting for the best starter pack right now.

I love TAG and they have square containers and splits of all of their colors so you can build a nice kit quickly and they are still big enough to use a sponge with. Since you are in a hot state you might also like Starblends which I love for full face designs, especially boys and they are great for warm weather because they don't sweat off as easily. TAG also has some great one-strokes which help make dimensional paintings quickly. I'm excited for you that you are just starting again because there are so many wonderful options but it can be intimidating for sure.

Thanks Denise! Yeah, we do get hot here. I used to do my face painting in Florida, and what we'd do is alternate our paints from water (in the cooler seasons) to a type of grease set with translucent powder. But that was back then, so I'm excited what they have now and days.

I've been very interested in TAG and have been checking out their stuff, but I'll have to take a look at Starblends also. =]

Thank you. =] I've already learned a lot, in terms of what I'll need to cover (i.e. insurance.) So I'm anxious to learn, while waiting for the funds to come in and get my stuff.
