Great job!

I always try to bring my daughter, who is 8, with me to Ppf events... Just did one this last weekend and painted her and she stands out front lookin all cute and stuff and hands out my business cards... It helps!

At first she wanted to help so she asked if she can hand some out and I said sure. Today I got an inquiry from a big job.., the woman said ' I was handed your business card...' Lol it worked!

Aside from my display I have my banner which has a HUGE Pic of my painted kids on it so there is no doubt that I am a painter...

If its real slow I'll paint a kid for free, then once people see what I'm doing and the result, it brings business.

Congrats on your first gig. I think it went great for you!

My 9 yr. old likes to perform for the crowd with her hula-hooping or dancing (both self-taught). And if it’s slow says “Facepainting....get your face painted here” aloud as people walk by. Of course she always gets face painted first.

Well that is how it went exactly with me, the second day.
I had painted my girls too (as you can see on the pictures Very Happy. )
And the eldest was handing out my business cards too.  She even shouted like a market vendor: " who wants to be facepainted? It's only 3 euro's!"
Very Happy

So funny actually!
Her butterlfy was also the most popular design as wel.

That’s awesome! They LOVE to help and are not shy at all. Make sure you pay her and write it off on your taxes.

I'm jealous now...I want kids that will drum up business! My 12 year old son wants nothing to do with it (it's embarrasing) and my 5 year old gets upset sporatically when I paint other little girls. So...I generally try my hardest to leave them both at HOME! Very Happy
Good job on your first gig!

Ella, your booth looks beautiful and your painting is great...I have no idea why you only got 4 kids!!!!!  But it happened to me once too at a PPF.  I don't do festivals anymore (where I have to pay to be there), unless it's like a town festival or something where the town is paying ME to paint the people for free.  I do have a few regular venues where I paint PPF.  One is a bowling alley/arcade/sports bar.  When I'm there, it always starts off slow, so I paint the bartender with a great eye design and she sends people to me.  They do birthday parties there, so I paint the few "servers" that run the party rooms.  I also paint the people behind the desk, who are handing out shoes, taking money etc.  It's worth it to get it started.  I don't get rich there but it's nice steady money.  Good people to tell to come by for a free painting at a festival is any of the food servers at the food booth, since those booths are always packed with people seeing their face. Last year I did St. Patties Day at a really big restaurant with 3 bars. I came 1/2 hr. early and painted about 15 servers for free. All day long those servers sent people to me and were great advertisement. It was the best money day I ever had face painting! A few free faces can make you lots of money later!!!

Well, the booth itself I was less happy about it. But that is just because I shared the table with my friends. They had most of the space on it.
Me just a small part of it.

But that is because I don't have derend gear of my own yet ( besides the display and the paint stuff).
