Thanks so much, Sneezle! I actually used Cameleon's "Soulfire" Colorblock for the one-stroke areas, but picked up the colour with a 3/4" flat brush avoiding the blue area. I usually use the whole cake together (it's beautiful!) but didn't want the blue on this occasion. Smile

ladymoonlit - there's an icon in the text input box, under the "Bold" icon, which has a little disk on top of a photo.  Click that, then "browse" (if you're uploading a photo).  Browse and open as usual, click "host" and when it's done, you can copy/paste one of the URLs it will give you in order to insert your photo into the post.  Hope that helps?

Silversky - thank you!  I ended up having to wash it off before we headed out for dinner.  I was rushing around and my eye started to water (I have a blind eye and it has that ANNOYING habit), ruining the mask.  Wah!  On the other hand, the friend whose apartment we were heading to had already seen it on Facebook, and loved it.  Smile

thouartbeautiful - lovely linework and highlighting!  It's really pretty!

Here's what I've been up to today!

My friend was really happy, and for the most part I was pleased, but I'd change a couple of things if I did it again.  Lots of fun though, and we had cake!!  Very Happy

P.S.  I should point out the tribal dragon tattoo is all her own!

First timer practicing with TAG and Paradise paints

Post by Savvy on Tue Sep 24, 2013 6:15 pm

Complete noob here! I did only one volunteer gig over a year ago, and most of that was doing butterflies or batman and spiderman.  I have another volunteer gig this weekend (they paid for paints and mileage whoohoo!) I've burned up Youtube and this wonderful forum :)and practiced using what was left of my old Snazaroo Ultimate Party pack paint a few days ago. Comparing it to my brand new TAG 12 color palette....whoa, what a difference!! I love the color of TAG, but I'm finding it leaves my skin uncomfortably tight but softer when I wash it off, and blues/purples don't wash off well from my sensitive skin. I have one Paradise Prism Arc de Ciel cake that leaves my skin soft and supple, and I can smell the coconut oil (love it!), but red doesn't want to wash off. I might have to get a Paradise palette too Smile

So here's my practice today with TAG and Paradise:

so i did a festival recently and painted many faces.   most of the girls wanted the butterfly mask, like this one:

but one little girl would not let her mom talk her into butterfly...she was a brave one and chose something from my design that no one else had....my swan dancer (named such because it reminds me of the movie black swan for some reason). its a triple layer of color over the eyes, and then black swirls with jewels on the corners of the eyes, three on each cheek bone and three bindi style on the forehead.  sadly i was so busy that i didn't get to snap a photo of the finished paint.  I was painting at an event the next weekend and the girl and her mom found me a again she chose her own design, no peer pressure for her lol.  Going with moon goddess design.  As Im painting her the mom was telling me how much they enjoyed the festival and how much she loved the painting i had doen and that everyine else had too, and then she said, "did you see it in the paper? a newspaper photographer took her photo and put in the paper in your facepaint. "    so apparently one of my paints was in the paper....being a newbie, this totally makes me ecstatic!   sadly no photo of the design from my camera, but here it is in the paper:

thanks Creabella! Face Painting is quickly becoming an obsession for me. I went on an ordering spree for more paints last night and tonight, searching, pricing, ordering...and I'm quivering with anticipation for the new stuff to arrive so i can play with them. I plan to immediately go to my brothers house and paint my niece and nephews....gotta try a neon rainbow tiger for sure. lol. and gotta learn a 'hulk" design for Asher, the smasher...my three year old nephew. any suggestions guys?
