Dear SewDarnHot:
Regarding inexpensive sponges:
I have purchased sponges from the Dollar Store, and my beloved Canadian Tire store, and used an electric carving knife to carve the sponges into separate pieces. This winter, I carved over 1,000 pieces, as we use one sponge per child, and I had an 18 day, 8 hour day event. We used between 150-700 sponges per day. Those inexpensive sponges were just fine. We all coveted the green Fantasy World Wide sponges (available in the FacePaintForumShop in the colourful rectangle above right of this thread).

Happy Painting!

Thank you. I have a few "nice" ones. Green and some black that were sent to me.
I think I will try the car wash ones. can you send me a photo of the size/way that you cut them. I do not have an electric knife but I do not mind the extra time to make them. I also love the look in black and thinking of dying them all black. Smile
