Dear Neneskids:
In the colourful rectangle above this thread, there is the link to the Face Paint Forum Shop. The prices are competitive, and the shipping is FAST!

Happy Painting!

face paint forum shop is the absolute best deal when you compare speed, shipping cost, and selection.

you can search in other shops, to compare, but you'll just be wasting time...trust me, and no offense metina Smile

I checked the shop but didn't see a "starter kit" - is there not one available? Thanks.

Dear kerri7335:
What brand/colours of paint do you use now? Maybe some of us can guide you toward choosing a kit that will be more useful than a generic starter kit.

I am going to hijack this post if I can and would love input on a kit. I like doing animal faces best but I also fancy above the eye/temple work.

I would say a rainbow cake is an essential part of my kit. For girls I could probably get by with only a rainbow cake and black/white. I particularly like the new Silly Farm stackables in Juicy Fruit and Egg Drop. But I also have DFX Rainbow cakes in standard, neon and pastel. You can paint just about anything using a rainbow cake - fantasy tigers to butterflies. If I had to choose ONE it would probably be my neon rainbow cake. I use it the most for people of all ages and it works as a great base for eye designs in particular. I buy way too many paints Sad .. is there such a thing? LOL

I suppose it depends on what kind of animals you want to paint. For cats and dogs (hey and pandas!) you can get away with black and white and maybe some pink highlights. For more exotic animals you'll probably want to invest in a dark brown/light brown, yellow and orange - this will cover your standard tiger, lion, cheetah, giraffe. For reptiles maybe some green tones or you could use your standard spidey red with some orange for a cool snake!

When I first started out the only paints easily available(without doing research and in the UK) were snazaroo. If I could go back in time I'd tell myself to do more research and choose DFX or Wolfe for white and black. It's worth paying the little bit extra for. You'll already have a white and black though, so I suppose I'm just writing this for future readers.

Yeah, after using most of my 2 Snaz party palettes, I invested in the Snazaroo 8- 30ml palette, a rainbow one stroke and Wolfe Black and Chameleon White because I could not find anywhere that had Wolfe White in stock in Canada. Once I am in the black, I am going to get a brown, and maybe a purple and an aqua but I think I might just get split cakes or one strokes that have purple and aqua in them. I also want a black/greens/yellows one stroke for snakes and lizards.
