as to price again that is my personal thoughts in that I like to bid each event as a separate function. if i have to put in special training for an event I will add additional fee, if i have to travel beyond my local i add a fee, if need to buy special items for that event i add a fee.

how you do it is totally up to you. it is your business to run my friend and none of what i post is law lol just some helpful advise

Right now all I would offer is face painting and I wouldn't want to miss a customer just because they look at my page and want to know how much I charge but are too lazy to contact me. I may just put a starting point with disclaimers that it's an estimate only and to contact me further. I'll continue tweaking :-)

your page looks great!
rates and gallery are the main things people look at, followed by contact.

you've got it all, and i like how you have pictures of the paint you use so people can see what it looks like!

not to sure about the bit about your tip jar....i would leave that part off the site and just say it when they inquire.

that would be good yes.

keep in mind though that the best salesman you have for your company is you. the more reasons you give them to call you the better. it lets you sell your self in a more personal way.

your doing great! i look forward to your success!

also, i do offer a price on my site, but clearly as day, i also mention the additional charge for fuel.

the last thing you want is a gig that cost $30 for a round trip, and more than 25 kids when you arrive.

i do like how you mentioned it would take you 2 hours to do 10 faces....that's something important for shoppers who are making comparisons between who to hire.

however, if you CAN paint more than 5 faces an hour, i'd take that part off.

you are basically charging $15 per face at a birthday party, at that speed.

I love your site! So colorful and fun. Since I've never done a site I can't offer a ton of advice past what others have said. I'm not a super speedy painter yet and I have been having trouble deciding what to charge. I will hopefully get mine going today. I like your idea of just getting it out there and tweaking as you go. Time to take the LEAP!

I can do more faces than that, just trying to say that if 10 people want an eight minute face, that it would be better to book for two hours rather than me run out of time. How is a better way to word it? I can do an average of 12-15 an hour if they are quick designs but not full faces with a lot of detailing

Thanks Michael, that's sweet. I'm hoping to get miss Ronnie to say something since I actually worked with her :-D.....

Jnzfoo, just make the leap. I looked at fifty websites on here while putting mine together, but I had to get it up and going before I could get some outside input on it. It's my pet project at the moment

I just looked at a bunch of forum members pages and took a few questions that I thought I may get asked and customized the answers to my versions. I haven't done a Facebook page yet so I don't know which category to do. Event services would probably be mine

Jnzfoo, yours looks good. Only thing I noticed is when I try to access your gallery, it takes me to a log in page? It does it on mobile and desktop.

Michael, do you not have a website? I was gonna snoop around yours for inspiration but I can't find it. I click the world icon and it takes me to my own Facebook page?

no I do not use a website anymore, all my business is through word of mouth. I turn away more performances then I take now so I really do not need to market as much as someone just starting out.

When I talk on the phone, I offer two quotes.one for fast faces by request, with one bling face for bday kid. $5 per guest expected, plus 15 for bday kid.
Or, all kids get $10 FACES with glitter.
I do not paint any kid that doesn't want it.
If I go overtime, its a dollar a minute, and I beast through the kids with ultra fast masks.princess, butterfly, spider, peace sign, dragon or flower.

I will go through the line first, then call kida back for extra touches if,there is time.

Parents know up front what deAl they chose.my designs remain consistent....

yes i would make a page for reviews and comments i would also splatter 1 0r 2 of them on each page. this lets them see that people love you. the more word of mouth you get the better.

when people call you the goal is to have them call to book YOU...not call to book a face  painter. anyone can face paint, no one can be YOU.

that is the key to my success, they do not call me for a magician, a face painter, a balloon artist, they call to higher Michael and no one else can take my place. I spent years creating relationships like that. they turn all of their friends on to me as a "insider secret"  the term "good ole boy network" is very fitting here. its at this point you raise your rates to try and thin out the calls to just those that you want.

Michael, advise noted and appreciated.

jnzfoo ....I haven't yet lol and I started 2 days ago. I went through and looked at a bunch of splits and rainbows and wrote down the colors in them. Gonna buy the colors and make my own. I have a good bit of single colors, but I need some splits and I am way too cheap to buy the pre-made ones
