Re: Kammy's café

Post by Kammy on Sat Nov 23, 2013 8:46 am

MARGARITAS FOR ME, PLEASE! Laughing

So, I wasn't in much of a chatty mood yesterday due to having a bit of a wobble. I woke up feeling pretty flat, somehow, and didn't manage to get myself out of the mood again until evening. I think it's the inevitable waiting that cancer calls for - waiting for tests, waiting for results, waiting for treatment to start - and then the fact that our minds play tricks on us and blow everything up into a catastrophe as a result.

Sigh.

I try to keep telling myself that it'll get better, it'll pass - and for the most part, I'm feeling far brighter this morning. I slept a little better (and without medication, yay me!) and I'm just counting down the days to Tuesday, when I'll get results of all the tests I've had over the past two weeks.

Of course....then I'll just be waiting AGAIN, for treatment to start. Wink

On the happier side of things, my little boy is making me giggle (he's currently pretending to be a helicopter), his daddy is making me a cup of tea, and tonight all three of us are going to my friend's apartment for movies and dinner. Yayyyy!

*looks around*

Um....where did all the cookies go????

Dear Kammy,

Your to-do list of the day:
1. Wake up
2. Survive
3. Go back to bed

And eat cookies!

FESS! Where did the cookies go?!

for me the waiting was not so bad. I did not focus anything other then enjoying my family and my life. when the Dr told me I had 2 weeks to live and then in the same breath told me it would take around 2 weeks to get me on the table, I kind of gave up on worry and said screw this im going out happy that I lived and shared my life with my family. im taking happy to the max extreme.

focus on your love. how it feels to be loved so completely. focus on how much love you have in your heart to give and just know that you will be around to give it for many years to come. just know........

knowing is half the battle. it does not matter what the tests say it only matter that you KNOW you will win....

Wished I was only half as strong as you are Michael.
Because to me it did matter what the tests said, and I sure hoped I was going to win, but nobody knows for sure.
Cancer's a very nasty, unpredictable disease, and even those who have the greatest faith in beating it, lost the battle.
That doesn't say they didn't fight hard enough, or didn't believe enough.
Sometimes you just can't control it.

Only thing you can do, is to give it all you have and hope that's enough.
I did. I took all chemo's and a double mastectomy, and hope that'll be enough to win this battle.
It still worries me now and then.

I know Kammy will fight too, with every strength she has, because she's a tough cookie too!

Lizzie you are twice as strong as I am as is Kammy. I just refuse to let fear eat at me. courage is not the absence of fear but the facing of it and living the way you want in spite of it. no matter you are both loved and that is a great feeling to focus on no?

Yes, you're totally right of course.
Don't feed the fears!
Only problem is, they love the same stuff I do: chocolat, caramel, and kids-cuddles.
Specially kids -cuddles. My kids! Cuddles.
