how do you display photos for events?

Post by saloner on Mon Dec 16, 2013 10:58 am

I do use a board. Due to an injury I have memory issues. So I need a board. I have tried incasing them in Lucite...too heavy. They I used very large frames...I am thinking about doing a banner. I keep putting that off cuz it is soooooo darned expensive. I did do one as a photo banner, but it only allows for 12 pix. Anyone have any ideas?

if you want to see what I have, you can go to face paintn mama/ face book. I really would like to hear how some of you do this. Oh I should mention that I am asking for festivals.

First of all, I laminate all my pictures. This way they stay dry in case it starts to rain or something gets spilled. I have three large (18"x24") corrugated white boards that I have turned into a trifold display. I also have a bi-fold display board for smaller set-ups. I use the "dots" that are used for scrapbooking to attach the pictures. Since I print my pics in 5"x7" & 2-1/2"x 3", my pics are interchangeable on both boards. The ones I don't use, I keep in a small looseleaf binder that is with me when I go to shows, just in case. I also used 8"x11" clear laminating sheets to print off my logo and additional graphics to jazz things up a bit.

I use a few different methods...I want to get one of those big stading signs like ruby has..
but for now I have the trifold poster, as well as the foam sheets, and lately I've been bringing a tablet to let the kids slide through the gallery-it is WAY faster...

I use a decent $200 tablet, not a super expensive one...that way I can replace it if it breaks.but it's good so far.

I'm gonna transfer all my pics onto one of my kids innotabs after Christmas and use it instead from now on, because it really really speeds things up.

the tablet is cool because I have the pics categorized into different folder genres...so then I can really get inspired and come up with some neato designs, original but awesome-even if I am only using a word list and NOT passing around the tablet.

I do. I got it at Michaels. Around $25.00, but you could use a coupon. I think it is made by Purple Cow. Comes with plenty of laminating sheets to get you started.

I think what I am going to do is buy a banner. I will have them put the ones that I will always have in each price category then leave the rest of the space in each price category and put the lamenated "new" pix and attach then with the dots. That way I can always update. I think it will look ok, what do you guys think about this idea? I will have it 2X6 so there will be a lot of space. I bought a grid wall with metal feet that unscrew to transfer and attach them with a matching color of the grid wall (white) those quick ties that cops use to secure someone. if it rains, or the power winds my grids work great for me and you can use both sides if you offer another service.

If this helps. I use coreplast. Its a very lightweight and extremely durable.  It is corrugated plastic. I used two pieces and a laminated poster with my colorful border. (I chose a look over a logo) I laminated my posters for glitter tats and all my pictures. I used the heavy duty Velcro squares and I used duck tape to sandwich the boards together. I took glitter tat posters to Staples they did them both for 6.00. I do have my own laminating machine but I use walmart to print pics since I can have the picture name printed right on them. I tried numbers but I keep changing pics and kept forgetting what # I used for the designs. Here is a pic of my tat board I usually have a sign at the top with the price..its a small mini version of my colorful border, laminated.

I would really like to see them. Do you think you could put grommets in each corner of the corrugated boards so I could mount them to the tent?
Have you ever used "dots" from Fred n Meyers or Michaels? I mounted my disabled parking placard on my car window, it has weathered sun and cold weather.

someone told of plastic "sleeves" that can be mounted to the board and you can just slip in the photo and change them up whenever you choose
anyone know where to get those sleeves in the US? I would think to laminate all the photos would be very costly but I do like the corrugated board idea.
