maggie Love your face paintings, the first two looks almost like fireworks! Love it. And your purple butterfly with heart is very beautifull.
On my owl i did use a red pink and white pricess/rose splitcake but it turned out i little red, specially because there wasn't any daylight at 5:00 a clock in the afternoon.

Katurah i'm really curious what you are going to make with the soulfire cake, lovely colours!

Marielle, that princess/rose split cake is gorgeous! I can see pink but I want sure because I have never seen a pink like that. What brand is it?
You have beautiful children.

Thank you Maggie. It's called Sweets and the brand is PartyXplosion in the Netherlands. But i have no idea if you can find a similar one in the UK or in the USA??? It has a dark red on top, orange red underneath and pink and white below. This is the link to a picture of the cake....

Again, not all my own designs.  Just lots of practicing!

Girls were playing video games and asked to be Mario and Luigi LOL

Here my girls are painting on their own practice heads.  Went to the local second hand store and picked up two big toy barbie heads that are meant for doing hair.  Hair was tangled and gross but faces are great and cheap to paint for kids! These I only paid a dollar each for.  Girls adore this.  And I love not having my arms and face crazy when they want to paint.

Here is this morning's attempts with very wiggly models

The rocketship below is a stencil but I added a background, some stars and starbursts (and gitter) but you can't see that very well.

Wow, I've somehow missed so much going on in here! Really wonderful work and some very precious, adorable children!
Feeling the painting vibe after a short lull...some doodling  and a night where my friend let me practice on her.

Busy day watching FABATV and making one-stroke cakes.  I really like the idea of using the one-stroke for outlining.

I'm not a big butterfly fan, but thought I'd give it a try this evening.  I repotted all my paints today. This is a split I created with Snaz orange, lt. blue and lilac.
Note to self:  wear gloves when repotting paints...hands stained dark turquoise.

Re: SHOW and TELL #7 January - March 2014

Post by Acanthus on Thu Jan 23, 2014 8:15 am

Hi all - it's been almost a year since I participated on the forum, I think. But I've been painting a bit here and there - a couple of parties, my kids when I can hold them down long enough. Very Happy Here's my current favourite design: a semi-realistic red panda mask. There's a bonus rainbow tiger in the background - the 2yo sits well for a toddler, but not long enough for complex designs!

My next goal is to work on getting those fur effects a bit more professional-looking and smoother.

I'm afraid to show my face painting but I do it anyway. so don't judge me please  Cool .

This is my 5 year old daughter and she loves rainbows!

I have seen this one here and I wanted to give it a try, not as good as the origin but we try

Painting myself, that is hard!

And my 2 year old daugter today, she is all over the place, so I'm pretty happy with the result haha

And this is all de painting that I have done till now.
