Newbie from Wales,UK

Post by edg on Mon Jan 27, 2014 3:59 pm

Hello everyone,
I am completely new to face painting and I will be doing my first gig on saturday 1st Feb. I have been practicing on my children but do any of you have any advice or hints and tips to help me?

Welcome to the Forum, edg!

There are years of collective wisdom in the threads on this Forum.
My only advice is to practice practise practise.
Practice creating teardrops every day.
Line work: thin to thick to thin.
Swirls & scrolls.
Get a few faces down pat for yourself:
Butterflies, tigers, princesses, (Are SpiderMan and BatMan as popular in Wales?).

Go into your Profile, above and type in your location to make it easier for local painters to invite you to jams.

Don't worry about speed. Speed comes with practice, time and confidence.

Happy Painting!

Welcome edg!!
Congrats on your first gig.

The only advice I can give is study  READ, READ, READ the forum threads....everything you EVER wanted to know is here...shared by the most generous FP'ers you could ever meet  cheers

You might want to go to your "Profile" and put in Wales UK in your location. Many questions have "location specific" answers...you could also possibly meet other FP in your area, or even share FP orders so that your shipping costs are lower.

A lot of us newbies post pictures over in the "New to Face Painting" section to start with, then branch out from there. There is a "Show and Tell” #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc and now “Show and Tell #6 January – February 2014”...love to have you!   Very Happy (and most everyone is shy to start with, but don't worry, it is VERY supportive!!)
Hope you will join us and not just say hello and disappear. Wink

(Fesspenter was posting at the same time....didn't mean to bug you twice about going to your Profile to put in your location!  Wink   )
