glitter help

Post by newbie:) on Tue Feb 18, 2014 11:46 pm

Hello fellow facepainters.
so my question is which is the best glitter to use for face painting. I've had different colors but only seem to use the white/clear a lot because it just goes with everything. Do all you mostly on use it too? Where to get the best white glitter? I'm thinking about getting the bigger bag of the pearl white from the shop forum but in the pic it looks a bit pink. Does anyone use that one? Please help with any suggestions. Thank you a bunch.

I use the white glitter mostly, don't know about the one in the forum shop, the picture in the just may not represent the product fairly, but if you go into the forum shop and go to the bottom to the contact tab you may get someone to help out.
I also like the pearl precious gem powder by mehron for an extra shimmer.

i use iridescent blue fairy from the fpfshop.........not only is it a good glitter, but when i put it in the boys, they love how it magically turns blue, orange or green to match their design.

i also use mama clown glitter and sally girl and suzy sparkles.

Ok thank nikkili26. I will get a blue for the boys. When I ask them if they want glitter they always say no but I mostly have girly colors... May be that why lol ; 0)

I have about 30 different colors of cosmetic glitter I've gathered up here and there in little glitter cups. I love putting the colors as accents over corresponding color areas in the paint, really makes the contrast pop Smile

I use the same one as Nikki, it is my favorite because it goes with every single color and because is translucent you can see through it. I also have iridescent glitter in other colors, I use it when there are less kids/more time.

I mostly use the rainbow mix of white glitter.  I have a bunch of different colors of translucent glitter that I use as well.  As long as it sparkles it's good!   Laughing  When I ask boys if they want glitter I always ask if they want "superhero sparkles".

Every pair of shoes I own is embedded with glitter... even shoes I don't wear to gigs (including my husband's)...  Shocked  I have 24 snap pots of glitter currently, and do custom blends with several shades of a color/color group to get the dimensional glitter I use. Have every color I would ever want, and it lasts forever... I restock from beauty supply shops and just after Halloween when the cosmetic companies go nuts with end caps of glitter. Am a bit of a sparkle addict at this point  Laughing

Though not covered in it (I keep it in one room and limit their access), my two gray cats sport one or two flecks of it at all times. They sit in the sun and then suddenly, there it is. A green sparkle. A pink sparkle. Meow!

My husband's co-workers enjoy pointing out glitter flecks on him at work. Which makes me laugh. A lot. Laughing

Aww that's funny. My hubby hates glitter because we can't get rid of it for a long while once a container is opened. It's like once the lids is popped opened its the glitter cue to spread uncontrollably. Lol.
