Religious Designs

Post by saloner on Fri Mar 07, 2014 12:54 pm

I want to do a board for Easter, I will have the typical bunnies, eggs but I want to do some Crosses something like that. What do you all do for Easter?  I went to hobby lobby on one of their 50% off sales, and found some beautiful rhinestone crosses. so I am eager to see what you all do for this holiday

If you want just religios symbols then there are
fishes, the white pidgeon,
The P with a "x" in,
the torn wreath,
a goblet
a triangle with an interfaced circle (coud even be an "never ending symbol" as some keltik knots)
candles
an eye inside a triangle (there are often line outside)
a lamb
(some of these signs are difficult to explain without pictures, but I hope you'll understand.)

Here in sweden some witches called "påskakärring" are a wellknown eastersymbol. You can seek on google pictures for "easter witch" if you want to see what I mean and don't could use letters like "Ä" and "Å"

If you want something other than religious symbols I think you can use anything that is connected to the spring, for example
birds (the one who comes bak after the winter)
flowers (the early flowers as tulips, snowdrops...)
sun that are melting snow

If I try to make easter designs I use much colour and try to find my inspiration in the nature.

If would be pretty if you took a rainbow cake and made a sunrise on the center of the forehead above the bridge of the nose. The put one of the pretty crosses in the center. Draw in two more crosses, one on each side of the gem cross. Draw in some grass, some rays...whatcha think?

White lilies (Easter lilies) are great! Incorporate Hallelujah, Alle, Alleluja, Blessed Easter, He is risen. All of that works.

Any of you have any pictures of it. I wouldn't know how to paint an Easter Lilly- that would be cool though

Easter = bunnies. Period. My big Easter gig only permits bunnies. Thousands of bunnies... albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino albino geek albino albino albino

And fourth from the last bunny would be ... YOU?? ... after painting all those bunnies. It looks about the same as what would happen if you started with two bunnies in one room and left them to their own devices ...

You could also add a princess crown with a cross in the center of it. The rhinestone crosses will add bling to a princess crown. With the princess crown you can mention that we are adopted into God's family when we become believers and since He is King of Kings, we become royalty, like a princess.

The fish symbol, various styles of crosses are always popular - some celtic kind scrolling things, or a cross with a purple banner or cloth on it.

I liked the rainbow sunrise idea. You could also just do a rainbow swirl down the side of the face with the three crosses next to the eye for a small design.

Hi. Sorry I let you wait. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of my ideas, but if you seek on google pictures for Christian symbols you will see some of my symbols and then you could do you own design with those symbols included

Did you know there is a Bad naughty word Mini Stencil 3002 with two sizes crosses. And there are also stencils with doves. And what about a lilly? I was thinking of a dove behind a cross, maybe i will paint one for the easter challenge. And what do you think of a cross with a drapery around it.

Sneezy, I did do a cross with a fabric cloth drooping down from the left side to the right, with folds in it. It was nice.

Lisa Joy Young has a couple of great cross design tutorials on YouTube. Pretty beginner stuff, but still very nice.
