Great everyone!  I adore the snowflakes and roses!

I volunteered for my kid's schools carnival day to face paint next month.  I'm going to test how well I paint under pressure and for a few hours and then decide if I want to set my business in motion.  See if I can handle all the nutbar ladies before I get in too deep LOL.

Here's a few practices from me.  Mostly I've been trying to time myself and go fast and do a few designs in a row (my face is feeling it too!)

spiderman one stroke idea from a member here

not thrilled with this one.  Don't like the sponging of the rainbow cake where the purple circles the face.  Maybe straight up and down on the cheeks rather than rounded.  Thought I'd post it anyway, mistakes are good to learn from too!

LOVE the spider!!!
The forhead design is really colorful, i like it.
I think the robot under skin design is missing something though. It's needs some depth around the outer edge where metal meets blood to make it more sunken in and feel more like it's under the skin.
Here is a 'Terminator' face that my partner Aryn did
https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t1.0-9/945714_567246526659965_894673305_n.jpg
You get this darkness bout outlining in black then covering with the red. Also try to pix just a bit of dark purple in your red to give it a slightly darker shade for more depth. This is nice and quick to do that makes it pop just a bit more. Smile

For other trick you can add skin tearing/pulling by mixing a very light watery brown and paying attention to depth more. Like in these tattoos

But this of course takes more time to do. Unless you are Dutch Bihary, I've seen that guy do this technique SO fast. But then again he also started as a comic book illustrator. *shakes fist* Razz

No problem, I'm so glad you are open to tips ^.^ I meet too many people (not face painters) who get very defensive. :s

Anyway, yeah another thing to try is don't be afraid to be a bit more messy with the blood, instead of a red frame of equal opacity and width, play with it, make it random! and don't be afraid to put blood on the robat part itself too as if it still had blood left on it from the skin removal. Very Happy

My hair dresser saved me a few practice heads after her students had cut all the hair off them. They aren't the best (plastic etc) but thanks to the forum I hair spray them first and then use magic eraser when the blue or green just won't come off.

So much easier on my face than painting it over and over.

here is today's practice.

Your blending looks great on the practice heads, I know how notoriously difficult those can be!
