so talented! The only think I would change is the direction of the sea horse. I just like the look of creatures looking towards the ear when someone uses the actual eye. The wolfe brothers do this on FABATV with dragons and dinosaurs and I love it. <3

yeah i have seen their dragons, they look pretty awesome. Though to their credit most of the ones I have seen have been on bald guys, so they have more room to work with. This little girls hairline was pretty tight. She didn't have enough room i think to flip it. I did try the flip that same day with a boy who wanted a dinosaur.... it was god awful... I took a photo but didn't post it on face book. Wanna see it? It's pretty embarrassing lol.

After I did it, It turned me off trying to flip anymore that day lol.

I did this owl for the first time today and although I love it I feel it needs something else. Oh well, like every other design I'll work on it till it feels right.

Also good work, every ones improving so much Smile

I used the tag rainbow cake called 'Fairy Floss' for a nice light pallet to start on the sides. Then i used a BAM star stencil with white, then for the clouds I brushed on a thing layer of white over the try purple, then some of the purple to connect that for blending. Finally I put the rainbow in the center and added dots, tear drops and lipstick.

The seahorse is a bit trickier, I'm thinking of making a video for it.

ok.....
Now this kid wasn't the stillest that's for sure, but that's not why it fails. I think the design doesn't work. He seemed tickled by it though. lol

Last night at chorus there were discussions about singing like a "jellyfish" (flowing, wavy, etc) so did this art today.
I was inspired by a google picture.

I am still super new- but for the ones wanting a simple minion to add to their regular designs, here is one i do- also for more ease (and kids friggen love this part), attach craft store googly eyes! use spirit gum, the same way you would attach jewels.

*Sorry, not the greatest minion i have done, just the one i had with a picture available*

What a beautiful little minon model! And ForestFairy, I like the placement of the seahorse--I think it brings in her whole face & enhances that, rather than the artiness of flipping it to face an ear---now if they are really ugly/nasty...by all means flip it to the ear!

I have never met another FP, So getting any sort of constructive criticisms just don't happen. I know to better what i am doing I need it from ppl who actually paint!

I am very new (professionally only a few months), I have been lucky enough to be booked for multiple events each week- which is helping improve my abilities. I am still learning the ins and outs of everything, and am excited i stumbled onto this forum! I have been winging it up to this point, and have found some awesome pointers on here already!!

WOW ImagineThat!
Love your stuff, it's SO crisp!

I'll say something about each design for you. Smile

Green Monster
Love it! it's no bright and crisp, it really pops! I really like how you left our the eyes, and the way you did the edge at the boarder where the paint ends is fantastic, I'm going to try that myself!

Mini Mouse
Cute! Love the size and placement it REALLY works. Also the addition of the pink cheeks and sparkles is great! But it's the pink eye shadow that make it. I'm gonna try it this way next time!

Fish/Dragon
TOO funny! omg. reminds me of the big fish from super mario bros 2. Love how it goes over the eye!

While i can't see the dragon very well it looks well outlined and happy looking.

Spiderman eye mask
At first it messed with my eyes a bit because it seemed kinda wavy, but it's grown on me and the more i look at it the more i like it. Nice addition of the white in the web too!

silly green monster
Funny!!!

pirate
Love it! I was so disappointed with the last bandanna i did for a prirate. Love your high lights, and also the highlights in the eye patch, it really helps it look less flat. Also the beard... LOVE the beard.

ice design
I'll be honest i feel it's the plainest of the group. I think it could have used some teardrops or a third color like a darker blue. But other then that the placement and snowflakes are great!

puppy mouth
LOVE IT! SO doing this for the next little kid that wants a puppy. TOO cute. I always have trouble with getting dog faces right.

Great stuff! keep it coming, I can't wait to see more!

Re: SHOW and TELL #8 - April - June 2014

Post by ImagineThat! on Thu May 29, 2014 3:55 pm

Thanks a bunch! Forest-Fairy! i appreciate the feed back!

I agree the Frozen face is definitely my flattest. I have been looking at and playing around with more crisp designs, as i tend to have to do a lot of "frozen" themed faces and parties.

The minnie mouse one, it was a first attempt for me (all the ones phototed were). The bow needs to be cleaned up, and detailed better. But over all i was pretty happy with it.

i try and do things that don't require a lot of precise line work.. squirmy kids + under developed line work = sucky painting :)haha

i saw that one stroke spider man, SO trying it! I love one stroke stuff!

I have recently started bellies, and absolutely LoVeD it! I have about 5 more then the next few weeks to do Smile

where in BC are you?
