Dear jmac84:
Welcome to the Forum!
If you go into your Profile, above, and type in Orlando, it makes it easier for your local face painters to notice your geographical location and invite you to local Jams.

If I was just starting out... I would invest less money in all these wacky colours that I love, and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Line work is our "language" that we use to communicate our art to the world. Practice teardrops, thin to thick to thin lines, scrolls, swirls.
This Forum has collective years of wisdom in it's threads. I read these threads for about six months, lurking in the background until I finally started posting. If you look up at the top of this column, there is a colourful rectangle that is the FacePaintForumShop. The prices are competitive, and the shipping is FAST

There is a place to post and share your work with a kind, warm, non-judgemental audience in Show and Tell. There is a game of Face Paint Tag going on in Tag You Are It.

You will notice that when you ask a specific question, you will get as many different answers as there are artists. There are so many different paints, techniques, and brushes to try.

Happy Painting!

Another advise: you really don't need every single version of a split- or rainbowcake.

On the other hand...

Bad advise: buy them all!
