Hello from Starkville, MS

Post by Beloved15 on Sun Sep 14, 2014 6:12 pm

Just wanted to give a hello to everyone.  I hope to make some great connections here and learn much about the face painting trade. I am a new wife and even newer mother of a now 7 month old.  I decided to pursue face painting as a side business not too long ago after facing many changes in my life.  I have so far done 2 local events with pleasant results.  Still have a shaky hand, still fumbling around with my supplies, still don't have the perfect display, and still figuring everything out; however, I'm loving it so much, and all my customers are having a blast as well. Here's to hoping for many many more years in the face painting business. May God bless us all. Very Happy

welcome, you'll find lots of previous posts about techniques and supplies, and feel free to ask questions, i have gained a lot of insight into paints, powders and brushes, which has helped me choose what to get without wasting time and money.

Welcome to the Forum !
I also have shakey hands before a big event. As soon as I start to paint...the shakes go away. I still worry beforehand that I will forget how to paint.

I think a lot of my problem is that I get stressed that I'm taking too long on a face. That and I still haven't found a set up that works perfect for me. And for some reason, during the event, I can never get my black the right consistency to create several lines! Grah. I used DFX black because I couldn't find Wolfe black anywhere last time I tried to order. How many events did y'all do before finding your perfect set up that made painting more efficient?

I have been face painting for 16 years...
and I STILL have not found my perfect set up.
I am always tinkering with my kit.
