Full Body (and leotard) Glitter tattoos

Post by Wildcatfin on Mon Feb 01, 2010 11:14 pm

Thought I would share my latest craze!

I got fed up of 'just' doing smallish freehand glitter tatts on backs/ arms at balls.
So went BIG Smile Am addicted now.....

Please be aware the ladies in here are all dancers and are wearing prosthetic boob covers in the shape of roses etc, so are well and truly covered...

Same dancer diff club. Peacock feather theme as she was a fan dancing demo.

This was for the Beijing club - the round moon with squiggles on her arm/ back is their logo/ name in chinese !

For kungfu photoshoot - waiting pro shots.

Same dancer again but she had a different body tatt under that for her 1st performance then put this on for the final Adam & eve themed hoop show...

Experimented a lot and found adding paint to Graftobian pro Adhesive so it sticks wel for a lively all night dance show but can be peeled off far more easily after the end helps.

So Cat... you found that if you mix facepaint with the adhesive, it peels off easier? So like, liquid facepaint in a matching color to the glitter? And brush on? (I have never done a glitter tat, but have admired from afar... am now drooling to get me some with birthday monies).

There is a masquerade ball on March 6th that a few of the attendees have booked me for... like you said on the other thread.. this would be beautiful with an evening gown. Must go shopping! Please give advice everyone! I only have a month to practice on myself!!! jocolor

Wow!!! Is that mica or something else on the tiger? It doesn't look glittery in the photo. How long did it take you to do the dancer? Absolutely awesome!

Thanks!

The tiger is mica in the tail but he liked the glitter so much we went all glitter the rest. The sparkle WILL show (I hope) in the pro shoot of him leaping around kung-fu-ing on the beach, when I get them. Its just hard to photo and works best with several directions of direct light eg flash - I didn't use any in my snap.

I only mix facepaint with adhesive for the bodies IF its just for a shoot/ short performance wear - that way it won't sweat off but can be sort of peeled/ rubbed off. For more normal tatts I would keep the glue pure (almost - add a hint so you can see where you glued!) as they want it to last. Its just I can imagine glitter tatts all over your boobs/ butt are not that great to sleep in Smile I just use a contrasting colour to the skin - usually blue or green - as i only use opaque glitters and if properly applied the paint (as the glue dries clear!) should not show through anyway.

I poof on most of it and spread it around with a brush but would prefer, I think, for this, to have pots of glitter...just need to work out how safely as I'd be bound to knock them over/ get colour transfer btw pots....

All 3 of the skin designs took approx 2 hrs but I wasn't under pressure & am still learning.

The lycra bodysuit was a PAIN and took 3.5 due to drips being disguised and the fact the suit kept soaking up glue so had to be coated a couple of times. And she smudged it going the loo, and and etc.

On the ball dress pics above, yep, just a normal brush.

But I since found squeezing the glue from a fine-tip bottle (almost like a puffer but more like a silk paint gutta bottle) is better - much finer & will not go sticky and cloggy like the brush does.

The tiger glitter tatt I sacrificed an angled sword liner brush for tho...
