black glitter

I love adding a little glitter to my designs and with girl designs I usually stick with the white iridescent. But I also tend to do a lot of monsters and skulls for boys and wondered about adding just a little black glitter for some pop. So far though the black glitters i've found say they are opaque and intended for glitter tattoos, so I'm not sure if they would have the right look or be too dense. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Keep in mind that irridescent really means "see through" black is the only color that really isn't able to have this property or it will be a shade of grey. What you might consider is black glitter gel to embelish.

I've used black glitter on a skull on a boy and it looked great. Most boys don't want it though.

I'd say keep black glitter for tatts. It tends to look like freckles or paint splatters, like a lot of the opaques/ metallic glitters, especially in photos.

For boys I do use metallic red cosmetic glitter a lot as it looks like 'blood' if applied carefully (ie not poofed). But you can get away with using good irredescent glitters as long as you explain it/ change the name.

If you can, get a blue or green tinted irridescent instead of the standard rainbow or pink, thats better for boys.

Ie nicely gooey mouldy skulls need some phosphorescent slime sparkle, don't they? Snakes need a poisonous scale shimmer. Another fave being 'pixie dust - made from ground up fairies - guaranteed to make the girls cry'. Boys love it .

I like to use silver glitter on boys.. and I have some "black" as well, but it's more of a dark purple/black mix.... looks terrible on plain skin or on white, but works well on black paint!

Ugh... the black glitter didn't work out so well. Didn't sparkle... just looks like dirt.
