Re: Post Submissions Here!
For this, I bribed my son and then used a #4 round and a loew cornell 7520 filbert rake brush for the beard. All paints are DFX except I used mehron powder for the buckle. I just took the basic Santa face and changed Holidays.

I did the beard in layers with orange, red, brown and black, trying the get that correct orange colour..??? Then I used the same colours for the eyebrows. The cheek colour is dfx metalic red/rose I added the glasses lenses with dfx silver, and then outlined with black and highlighted with light blue and white. The hat was next and then the buckle and strap. Then I let him see himself and watched him giggle and stick his tongue out repeatedly.
This was a fun one!!

That design made me laugh out loud, it is the epitomy of a St. Paddy's design. Great job!

Re: Post Submissions Here!
FAB design!!! He is too adorable too! A real example of how the model takes a great paint to the "next level" of unforgettable cuteness!! Perfection!
Re: Post Submissions Here!
Awwww, thanks everyone. My cheeks hurt from grinning right now. My son never let me paint his face until the last challenge and this one too so I am so proud of him. I know my lines are messy and crooked but...yes, there is something in his eyes in this picture that made me enter it anyways. LOL Thanks for appreciating my son everyone. It means alot. *sappy mom moment*

Re: Post Submissions Here!
He is such a sweetie! That design just makes him look sooooooo cute! Lovely.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
He has the perfect Irish elf eyes! That'll be a tough one to beat. I have to bribe my kids to paint them now. 'Familiarity breeds contempt', eh? LOL

I agree- No Fair!
I think he would look even cuter with freckles though : )
I guess we should try and come up with something anyway...

Ooohhhh FRECKLES!! Good one, I never thought of that. Ok and to make you all feel better, I'll beat him with an ugly stick next time I paint him. Then you won't be blinded by his good looks and you will actually see the painting for what it is (or isn't) LMAO

Re: Post Submissions Here!

Step by step will follow as my connection here will allow. I got the base for this design from The Tattoo Sourcebook (the cat) and then sort of winged the rest as I went. We have a white cat and my little girl has been missing him since we have been away from home for so long so this is Jasper, the St. Pat's Day cat.
All paints used were DFX and the brushes used were a #4 round and a #0 round. Oh and I tried a one stroke brush, 1/2 inch for the leaves.

Re: Post Submissions Here!
I will try to follow the cuteness.
P.S. I forgot to write about the little rhinestone I popped on... but the adhesive I used was not exactly "regulation." For photography purposes, I licked the back and put it on...lol. Don't try that with clients!
